FIVE IMPRESSION OF NYC CONCEPT DESCRIPTION Inspired by the diversity of art and culture of NYC, five cultural landmarks were chosen as cultural representations of NYC, which are Guggenheim museum, NYC central station, Apollo theater, Harlem Street Graffiti arts, and stonewall, to design the cultural empowerment center in east Harlem, NYC. DOUBLE SKIN CURTAIN WALL SYSTEM

Summer mode

Winter mode

These double skin curtain wall systems are used for the south and west side facade to control the natural ventilation and daylighting. In the summer, the adaptive blinds are 30 degrees to allow less sunlight and the opening window allows hot air to go out from the building

In the winter, the adaptive blinds are 90 degrees allowing sunlight . The windows are closed to preserve the heated air flow.

The site locates at the intersection on Seintinel Rd, Finch Avenue and Steele St. The green land in the neighborhood is mainly located in hydro corridor, which creates a barrier between the north and the south. The main transportation hub is subway LRT. Half of the site overlays with flood plain area and animal habitats. The eleveated walk bridge is created for human circulation to preserve and expand animal habitat. It also provides them safe cross along hydro corridor without roadkill. A row of forest is planted along edges as barrier. The retail on the ground level is incresed to improve this neighborhood economy and connect street to York university proposed high-rise mix use. The community space, school locate in industrial area which lacks of community service. Volumes are added to school to adapt to more residents gathered after.

INTERACTIVE VILLAGE CONCEPT DESCRIPTION Housing types of a city not only form the image and skyline of the city but also have a significant influence on the city's economic activity. The housing of Taipei city presents unique Asian cities' mix-used urban planning. Interactive village rejects the monotony of high-rise housing and seeks to redefine how a housing project might look in low-rise and high-density form. It also aims to create a new housing typology to provide a new lifestyle, reflecting future population changes in Taipei City, by integrating housing area, business area, and public spaces vertically into a standard housing block.

HISTORICAL SLICE CONCEPT DESCRIPTION The project started with a question of how the preservation of historical buildings and new programs could co-exist. By blurring the boundary of old an new building at the site, the design could create opportunities for interactions between the students and the residents. The project aims to provide further knowledge of the history of Toad Mountain Village for all visitors through a transformative design method from the old architectural form. Open public spaces are created through the split of vertical shifts of circulation so that the students and the residents can hold more activities.

Train station renovation Type : 2017.10-2018.08 Date : New Taipei City,Taiwan Location : Building Area :

HOUTON TRAIN STATION ASSIGNED TASK As a member of the team, I was responsible for helping with all parts of design development and construction documentation. My job included 3D model drawing, rendering, design iterations, final drawings, and final detailing.

CONCEPT DESCRIPTION The Houton Train Station is an old train station situated in the heart of Houton Village, a popular tourist spot known for its wild cats and coal mine, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The project includes the renovation of the main building of the train station and construction of a new platform and overpass. The concept of the new platform was imitating the path of cats' wandering. The footbridge connecting the new platform conceive continuity of the mountainous scenery of the site and blend with the landscape of Houton Village. It uses glass curtain walls as transitions of the view interior and exterior space. The glass curtain walls give a feeling of openness and a layer of vision. lobby renovation
