MASTER THESIS A RECREATION HUB _new hotel + health club in Liberec, CZ Concept: The location of thesis project is in Liberec (Czech Republic). Due to the existing tourist resource and protected landscape areas, I define the function of the project for A RECREATION HUB_new hotel + heath club. The idea is to create a formal continuity between architecture and terrain resulting in system of overlapping artificial and natural landscapes. Reorganize the urban network such as traffic system, pedestrian, city texture and so on. In this thesis, I try to justify that architecture and urban is an organic and united system: “architecture is micro-urban & urban is macro-architecture�. Then I want to provide a new life style for local inhabitants as well as tourists in the dynamic modern metropolis. BACHELOR THESIS SCHOOL of CONTINUING EDUCATION in Shanghai, China Concept: If the architecture is regarded as an extension of sculpture and a part of nature, as a architect, I must consider how to make it fit in beautifully with the environment. The form of the main body is the cube. As the elevation, a large area of windows and concrete wall shows a striking contract. All single volumes cross each other and form abundant space. I have designed a “Hanging garden� above entrance space to connect multifunctional room and classroom together. The multifunctional room is upended such as a crystalline above water surface. To emphasize the feature of campus architecture, I have put a inner courtyard among these building for students and professors then this place create a micro-social space for communication.

City leisure Square (left figure) The square forms actinomorphic pattern. The manmade lake is the theme of this design. The sheet walls surround the manmade lake. The design decision focuses on the three major elements: point, line and surface. The sheet tree battle formation is the “surface” and divide the square into constituent parts. I make use of the line-form walls to unite them. The 0.9m high lamp posts are regarded as “point” and it a counterpoint to the mosaic floor. The tall trees are regarded as “umbrella” and the shadow of space under the trees forms the viewing and leasure area for people. The ground lights become the mark of the entrance. I consider not only the tout ensemble but also the detail in my design.
Theatre design (right figure) The design focuses on the ellipse-shaped theater and other two theaters are subordinative. The square in front of the theater is the center of composition in the master plan. It forms cohesive state. The truss above the fountain in the square express modern style. The square in front of the theater has solved well the problem of the stream of people. The idea of the design is: the audiences enter the shared in theater through the outdoor big step, and then they enter three respective auditoriums, as much as to say that audiences enter three auditoriums from top to bottom and the crowd can evacuate from exit the ground floor. The in-out crowd is not interferential each other. To satisfy the requirement of the evacuation, I settle the escape stair at each waiting-hall. The inspiration of the design comes from the “petal”. The design decision concentrated in the ellipe-shape theater. Its waiting-hall is regarded as sightseeing corridor. The view from it is extremely good. The sheet steel lath envelops the elevation of theater such as a “flower”. I have designed a “art wall” in the elevation. The ellipse-shaped windows imbed in the elevation. Ellipse-shaped windows which imbed in the “art wall” are not only correspond with whole architectural image, but also express the inherent artistry of the theater. The utilization of glass and stone material constitutes a sharp contrast and visual impact.
