Instructions of Portfolio

This portfolio consists of mainly two chapters: Critical Instruction (Hashtag) a n d W o r k s . In the chapter of the Critical Instruction, I briefly explain themes that are e x p l o r e d c o n s c i o u s l y i n m y w o r k i n f o u r b r o a d l y. I n t h i s p o r t f o l i o , t h i s i s c a l l e d a hashtag and is tied to individual works. Since each work with that hashtag and the page number are specified on each hashtag page, if you want to read a work for each hashtag you can search and read from there. In Works, I will explain my work individually using drawings and so on. Since hashtags attached to the work are written on the first page of each work, it is possible to read while confir ming what kind of theme each work is designed. The right page has a brief guide on each page attached. I aimed for a portfolio that you can read like watching SNS, so I am pleased if you can enjoy i t s s e a r c h a b i l i t y.

Coexistence of Heterogeneous People I n h u g e c i t i e s , d u e t o t h e i r d e n s i t y, a large number of people coexist in one urban space. It can be said that designing metropolitan architecture is to design how heterogeneous types of people coexist. In some cases, the buildings are designed t o m a k e p e o p l e i n t e r f e r e w i t h e a c h o t h e r, while others are designed to make them coexist without interference. The important thing is to design a building that can be used by as many people as possible. #Ambiguity The word #Ambiguity is defined here as giving the possibility of multiple meanings and usage to one space or fur niture. Since it can be said that building is a buildup of i n t e g r a t i o n , i t i s n a t u r a l t h a t t h e i d e a o f ambiguity comes up when designing, but by using #Ambiguity actively as a design i d e n t i t y, i t i s p o s s i b l e t o c r e a t e a c o n s t r u c t corresponding a variety of people and programs. This hashtag is attached to works designed consciously to allow diversity of interpretation to exist in one object. The concept of #Ambiguity allows the design to become more functional while at the same time creating communication between people who find different uses and interpretations for one thing and create specific activities to that object.

Municipal Orphanage in Amsterdam (1960) by Aldo van Eyck Dutch structuralism architects are explored "intermediate space" as a places to simultaneously recognize the meanings of both

Object Autonomy An interesting aspect of this attempt is to obscure the autonomy of objects. As a concrete example, treating big stairs like a stand of a stadium, or designing a huge shelf to be used as a blindfold wall are explored. By doing this, the autonomy of an object disappears, such as stairs are for going up and down and shelves are for storing things so that autonomy of objects depends on the relationship between people using it. By not forcing the identity of architecture and furniture into its simple function, the design becomes an integration of interpretation. Scaled Environment

# Tr a n s i t i o n When considering #Urbanism, mobility and accessibility are always mentioned as a concept. #Transition is a question of what kind of se q u e n c e i s t o be s et b et w een p ro g r ams . H o w t o c o n n e c t t h e p ro j e c t t o t h e s u r ro u n d i n g u r b a n situation or the natural environment is also a matter here. This teahouse has two entrances, one from the bottom of the pedestrian bridge and one from the top. People who do the tea ceremony enter separately from the two entrances and can meet for the first time in the teahouse. This intersects two different urban experiences. The exterior wall is made of mirror material, the teahouse completely assimilated in the streets of Shibuya, strengthening the sense of foreign body in the interior space.
