A sanctified circuit of four sacred pilgrimages i.e. Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath is called Char Dham. It is a pious journey which is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, Goddess Ganga, Lord Shiva, and Lord Vishnu. During the peak season, the Char Dham Yatra is thronged by the pilgrims coming from various parts across the globe. Apart from its religious value, this journey also known for its difficult route. It is a challenging rout including trekking on the rugged terrains, crossing the river & peaks, facing inevitable weather conditions etc. While planning for this auspicious journey, there are several things that have to be kept in mind before heading forward. Time of Journey The Char Dham Yatra is accessible only for six months i.e. April/May to October/November throughout the year. The region becomes unreachable during the other six months due to heavy snowfall. The doors of the shrines open on the particular dates. During the month of May, the region is crowded by the pilgrims and during June to August, the region witness heavy rainfall that makes the journey so much difficult. So, September month is the best time to plan your journey for Char Dham trip. Physical Fitness Matters As we have mentioned before that this is a challenging journey and it not everyone’s cup of tea. You are required to be physically & mentally strong and must have good stamina. Heart patients, or person having acrophobia, breathing problems, BP problems must think twice before planning for the strenuous Char Dham Tour.
