WSUD with human-wellbeing
The Bays, Inner West Council, Year 4 Term 3, Landscape Studio 10: Graduation Studio
The project aims to create a continuous and vibrant public space that combines urban com-munity with the natural environment. Through water-sensitive interventions, address the site's coastal habitat, stormwater and flooding issues. Integrate resilient design with site conditions to prevent the impacts of sea-level rise and storm surge, promote sustainable development, environmental restoration, enhance site biodiversity, and achieve coexistence between human and natural water.
Principles
Baywater Activation
• Create recreation for local communities and visitors
• Prevent the influence of sea level rise and water pollution from White Bay
• Restore habitat for native creatures
Stormwater Activation
• Make stormwater visible, improve awareness and knowledge of WSUD
• Establish stormwater recycling system to meet site water needs
• Enhance site vegetation-density and biodiversity
Fundamental Assets
Hydrology&Tide Change
White Bay water quality
• Elevated concentrations of metals
• Turbidity also exceeds the guideline values
