The Yakama Nation brought Las Vegas-style gambling to the area in 1998 and now has the largest casino in the area. Legends Casino is located at 580 Fort Road in Toppenish, near the Yakama Nation tribe headquarters. It added a hotel in 2017.
Legends offers nearly 1,500 slot machines, as well as black jack, poker, craps, baccarat, roulette, pai gow, bingo and keno. An all-you-can-eat buffet is also legendary, but no alcohol is served on the grounds. Legends is open seven days a week and hosts live entertainment throughout the year. St Joseph’s Bingo in Union Gap has become a haven for bingo players. The hall is open Wednesday through Sunday, and doors open 90 minutes before games start. Proceeds from the hall support St. Joseph/Marquette Catholic Schools of Yakima.
Bingo is one of the least expensive methods of gambling, making it attractive to those who don’t want to spend a lot of money. The hall features a special place for pull-tab sales.
