A LABYRINTH
Towers are surrounded by winding paths, which are meant to confuse the people who walk on them. Prisoners and guards are running on the paths which shows an escape scene. Prisoners are trying to enjoy their entertainment activities and sport activities.Complexed stairs and overlapping scattered buildings creats a feeling of unescapable. 4
PRISON MAZE REFRAMING THE PRIVACY Individual 2019.06
PROTOTYPE
DESIGN CONCEPT From the research above, I come to a conclusion that SECURITY and PRIVACY is twoimportantelementsthatinfluenceprison design. Exposur, survelience, accessibility arefactorsdefinethe security level andof privacy.
Different scale of a building and different space will create a different feeling to the user of the building. For example towering buildings create a sense of deterrence and solemnity and small room like solitary will create a claustrophobic atmosphere.
Prisoners are hanging in air and each cell rooms are isolated from each other as to prevent prisoners from escaping. The room in the bottom serves as a interrogation room. The shape of the interrogation room is like a speaker as to amplify prisoner’s shout during interrogation.
Complicated circulation created by numerous staircases is meant to form a verticle maze inside a prison. As a consequence, it will take prisoners a long time to escape from cell rooms to outside, which will leave enough time for guards to respond for prison break insidences. The control tower on the left side will help guards responds more efficiently.
Upright and foursquare grids will help locate prisoners’ position. Due to the intersect space in this model, prisoners will have more accessibility than the models before. The grids, which can also work as wall, will isolate prison from surroundings easily.

MIDDLE SECTION ENTRANCE There is only one entrance to the prison. All the prisoners, guards and visitors need to do a security check before they go into the prison. Each sections are isolated from each others.
ISOLATE SECTION
COMMON PRISON The common cell rooms are set on the outside layer of the prison. They will have better privacy and accessibility than felonies who are set in the central part of the prison.

Through ABAQUS software, the analysis results show that the entire member is relatively evenly stressed, without particularly obvious stress surges, suitable for random construction in multiple directions, and can be applied to the construction of modularization.

ROTATE SPLIT HOUSE
This design focus on creating a shared space between two families. The house spit into two different direction by using shear operation. By lifting the main structure, both indoor and outdoor public space on first floor where two families interact with each other. On second floor the layout become more separate and private. The two families divided into different direction when step into second floor. One is more normal and organized. The other is more free formed using diagonal walls to form space.

This project aims to create a public space for neighborhood community. This project is generated from 3 different unit shapes. Through a series of combination, this project forms a curvy shape.By lifting up the structure of every unit, first floor become a space that encourage people to interact with each other. A circulation path is connecting all units on the second floor. There are also several stopping moments on the circulation path for people to get together.

RURAL CITY THE HOME COMPETITION Director’s Choice Recognition 26
Group Project 2022.01 Team: Fangzhou Ni, Mengrui Zhang, Yufei Wang
City has become a predominant context in building projects for a long time, while the potential of countryside has always been overlooked. Rural City is a paradigm for future living condition. Abundant rural land makes it possible to overturn high-rise apartments to single-story row houses, where resources are equally possessed, and personality is dissimilarly developed. The optimized circular form creates two different environments and experiences on both sides of the community: an idyllic rural landscape with open, endless fields, and a more familiar city par the transparent façade and distinct skyline.
This atypical deurbanization process is response to the increasingly congested urban built environment and high-pressure lifestyle of citizens. Social attributes and effective agglomeration of cities are reserved in form of row houses, assembly workspace and various communal spaces. The definitions of citize are vague here. By approaching the two different contexts within a single home unit, a binary space of urban and rural, and a better balance between ease and e to be realized.

Pop-up Farmland aim to create a temporary medical facility that can provide nucleic acid testing and vaccination during the pandemic period and can easily be converted to a community aminity when the outbreak is over. This project focuses on formerly developing minority communities. For the post-epidemic era, it would transfer to a place that promotes healthy eating and urban agriculture using the green space at home. And the facility will provide instruction in agricultural knowledge as well as the sale of agricultural products.
