balmy Sunday afternoon at the DLF Golf and Country Club, Gurgaon, saw Delhi’s golf enthusiasts get together. The occasion was the 6th edition of the annual Madhavrao Scindia Golf Tournament, organised by the Madhavrao Scindia Foundation. While minister of state for commerce and industry, Jyotiraditya Scindia, had to miss the event in order to attend the funeral of veteran politician Arjun Singh, those seen teeing off on the sunny day included industrialist Pankaj Munjal, politician Rajiv Pratap Rudy, designer Nikhil Mehra, DCP (South) HGS Dhaliwal and architect Mohit Gujral, among others.

he Capital’s music lovers were in for a real treat as ghazal singer Anita Singhvi mesmerised guests at the Sada-e-dil event, an evening of ghazals, held at the FICCI auditorium. The concert was for the cause of Angels of Sun orphanage, Taare Zameen Par, a free vocational centre for disabled children, Save a Girl Child campaign and Suryakiran Empowerment Centres, run by Sun Foundation under its chairman Vikramjit Singh Sahney. Seen enjoying the evening were Pakistan’s Deputy High Commissioner in New Delhi, Zulfiqar Gardezi with wife Lyla, and Singhvi’s husband, MP Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi. VAISHALI BHAMBRI

he Capital’s style stalwarts came out to support a common cause at the annual Elle magazine carnival by Ogaan, held over the weekend at hotel Taj Mansingh. The event, that raises awareness about breast cancer, saw various designer goodies on sale. Seen at the event were the magazine’s editor Nonita Kalra, Ogaan’s Kavita and Aashti Bhartia, designers Rakesh Thakore, David Abraham, ITC chairman YC Deveshwar, artist Alex Davis, former model Sampada Inamdar, stylist Aparna Chandra, installation artists Gautam Seth and Prateek Jain, among others.
