oing by the large number of shops selling tea in Delhi, it is obvious that Delhiites simply love their daily cup of tea. But when it comes to buying tea, most of the shops sell the run of the mill variety with nothing exceptional about them. Here’s a look at some stores where you can get exotic and good quality tea leaves for a perfect brew.
The other day, I was travelling via the metro. The ladies’ coach was too crowded and I sat comfortably in a corner while a number of ladies kept chatting loudly all the time. After a while, I spotted a lady resting her back on the pole. She even had a baby in her hand; so I offered my seat to her. But as she approached my seat, another lady standing next to me quickly and shamelessly sat down. But what made me happy was that all other ladies got dramatic and told her to get up for the lady with the baby. It was funny, but solved the purpose. It became evident that Delhiwallahas have their own loud way to get things done! Reema Khanna
Dear Diary, Yesterday, I was returning from my college with two of my friends. We took a DTC bus and luckily even got seats. While gossiping, we looked behind, and to our horror, noticed that a middle-aged man was making a video of the three of
us. One of my friends started scolding him. Even the conductor stood up in our favour. He asked the driver to stop the bus, scolded the guy and asked him to get off the bus. But the uncle was stubborn and blatantly refused. So, the conductor forcibly threw him out of the bus, and we thanked him for doing so. It makes me proud that I live in a city where along with the cops, common people too have started playing a vital role in the security of girls. Roopali Pasricha

Dear Diary, It is getting really hot. So much so, that it feels bad to think about the condition of homeless people and strays on the streets. But you cannot turn a blind eye to their plight. While I have seen lots of people put clay pots outside their homes for the thirsty people to come and have water from, there is much more we all can do. Like, distribute sherbets to people on the street maybe once a week. Gaurav Sharma

n Friday afternoon, a new graffiti became part of the hustle bustle of Connaught Place. High-rise buildings and colourful profiles featured in a work of art that was painted outside the American Centre by Delhi-based artist Ompal Sansanwal. “It’s my way of expressing what this city means to me,” says the artist, who made the graffiti at an event held to mark the premiere of the film Bomb-It (about graffiti art). Painting in Delhi is not new to Sansanwal. In the past, he has been invited to make a mural at a temple in Katwaria Sarai and some schools too. On Sunday, we caught up with the artist as he painted a wall in Vasant Kunj. Talking about the fact that government considers unsolicited public graffiti illegal, Sansanwal says, “To an extent, it is correct. There must be some control or people will deface even monuments.”
This graffiti outside the American Centre in CP is on display till the end of the month
