CASHWRAP

A wooden cashwrap is used in this boutique for the purpose of contrast: the majority of the store is lined with aesthetically modern HDPE sheets. To combat this atmosphere, wood is used because the cashwrap is a high-traffic fixture, and wood sustainably gains beautiful aesthetic propertis over time. The hollow interior of this piece is lined with a recycled steel shell for aesthetics and strength.

FOCUS ORIENTED FURNITURE GOAL This group project revolves around creating a single-user piece of furniture that enhances focus in the workplace. To hone in on the different aspects that effect focus, we started by examining the necessities of the modern workplace and the basic human senses. PRIVACY - block noise - block vision - ambiance. blocking too much sound and vision can enhance other senses, like being deaf/blind/dumb. ORGANIZATION - desk drop space for tabletop items - easily visible foot drop space for larger items. This takes into account “out of sight, out of mind”

3 PAPER PRINTER PLUS WITH LILY DOAN

FLY EYE IN AN ELECTRON MICROSCOPE VIEW

CONCEPT: PAPER

GOAL The goal of this group project was to use the conceptual graphic of fly eyes through an electron magnescope to create a pattern in 3 phases. This pattern was employed as a wallpaper (paper). From this pattern, a light fixture form was created through the same concept, and 3D printed (printer).

PRINTER: LIGHT FIXTURE GOAL This light fixture was similarly designed in a way that would refract light in a similar fashion that a fly eyeball would.

PLUS: TILES GOAL These tiles were inspired by the refractive light abilities that fly eyes have. They are designed to be attached to the exterior of a building, but could potentially be used inside as well. These models were 3D printed using a paper-stacking printer.

TEXTURE / 3D EXPLORATION 8 separate textures were created using images of our previously used items. Using a 3D scanner to scan the objects, we digitally morped iterations of our ideas using textures. We created “textures using images of the models we made, and applied these textures to the 3D models of the models.
