F. Christopher Robin: Human, Everywhere!
Christopher Robin was a real boy, the son of the author A.A. Milne, and he really did have a stuffed teddy bear whom he named Winnie the Pooh. He also had a stuffed piglet, donkey, tiger, and kangaroo. Christopher Robin was born in 1920, and died in 1996.

Imagining the costumes

In ZACH’s production, the audience arrives and catches our actors by surprise - they’re not quite ready for the show! So all the actors have to scramble to find whatever costumes they can to make the show happen. But you’ll see that each character has one key element to remind you of the characters from Winnie the Pooh. You’ll see colors and shapes that identify with each character. For Pooh, of course there’s a red t-shirt, and for Eeyore, there are long ears. Once you see those essential elements, your imagination will fill in the rest. 1. Who were your favorite characters and why? 2. How was the play the same or different than Winnie the Pooh stories you know? 3. What were some of the problems the characters faced in the play? 4. One reason Rabbit was afraid of Kanga was because she was new to the forest and was a stranger. How did you feel about how quickly Rabbit judged somebody he did not know? How do you respond when you meet somebody new? 5. Rabbit apologizes to Kanga for playing a trick on her. Have you ever apologized for something you have done? How did you feel after you said you were sorry? Did you ever receive an apology? Did you forgive the person, why or why not? 6. In the play, Piglet says “it’s hard to be brave when you’re only a very small animal.” Sometimes it’s hard to be brave. What does it mean to be brave? Give an example of a time when you were brave.

7. When Pooh and Piglet discover it’s Eeyore’s birthday, they decide to give him a present. Neither of them has any money, so they give him gifts from their homes. Eeyore greatly appreciates their gifts because Pooh and Piglet are his friends. Have you ever made a gift? What was it? What is most important when giving a gift?
