Summer Shows Grades 4 -12 • By audition only. (See audition details on the opposite page)

Working with professional directors, designers, and artists, students apply classroom training to the stage, learn rehearsal process and etiquette, and the discipline of performance. A play is a big commitment. Students should attend every rehearsal (conflicts must be listed at time of audition), meet memorization deadlines, and come to rehearsal prepared for the day.

ACTivate: On Stand By

The Tempest

What do you do when you see an injustice? How do you stand up for others who have been hurt or mistreated? Who is on stand by for you? Using interviews, creative writing, movement, and digital media, you will create a performance investigating what it means to “stand by” a friend, your family, and the greater community. This production is an original collage play that will give voice to your own diverse experiences and the stories of others. Camp culminates in several performances at ZACH.

By William Shakespeare Grades 4 - 12 • $600 This romantic drama of epic proportions is set in a unique and impossible world where spirits roam, magic is real, reality is elusive, and illusion abounds. After twelve years marooned on a desert island with his daughter, the deposed duke of Milan must now choose between his desire for revenge and the freedom that can only come with forgiveness. This last play in Shakespeare’s cannon is a meditation on family, love, mercy, and—ultimately—the theatre itself.

Rehearsals: M-F, June 20 - July 21 6 - 9 p.m.

Rehearsals: M-F, July 11 - August 11 6 - 9:30 p.m.
