"The Art of Loving Something Innately Ugly" is a 'zine that I care about very dearly. For this project, I began to approach the way I look at art very differently. I wanted to be able to take things that I had made, which were full of aesthetic flaws and imperfections, in effect very ugly, but still appreciate them. Finding meaning and beauty in three blue lines painted on white paper and taped to cardboard, that's where it started. From there, I ran with it and compiled a booklet of all the art I had made which could typically be considered ugly. How one can love the art which is in itself ugly, is the art. It's the process. Mix of spraypaint, collage, writing, mixed media, and digital art.
