ZEBROS PROJECTS DEVELOPMENT OF A ZIGBEE-BASED WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK SYSTEM ABSTRACT With ZigBee technology, wireless sensor networks are being widely deployed. In this system, we develop a ZigBee-based wireless sensor network system based on system-on-chip of Texas Instruments (TI). Temperature acquisition is implemented for verification of the system. DESCRIPTION In this system, we design a ZigBee-based WSN system, which can monitor the environment temperature and signal strength of each node in the ZigBee network so as to control the LED lights on the nodes by the host computer. WSN is a special form of ad-hoc network composed of a large number of low-cost micro sensor nodes deployed in a monitoring area and a multi-hop self-organizing network system via wireless communication. It performs perception, acquisition and processing information of the objects in the coverage area, and delivers the information to the host computer of the monitoring system. Popular wireless communication technologies are IrDA, radio frequency (RF), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and ZigBee. ZigBee technology has distinguishing features, such as close range, low complexity, self-organization, low power, low rate and low cost. They can form networks of star, tree and mesh topologies. A coordinator (FFD) is responsible for establishment and maintenance of a ZigBee network, receiving data from routers and end devices; each network contains only one coordination device. A router (FFD) can have its own child nodes and it forwards data received from other devices. An end device (RFD) does not have child nodes, and it has no ability to forward data.

ZEBROS PROJECTS It composes of a PC monitoring system, a gateway, and a ZigBee-based wireless sensor network consisting of multiple nodes. This system describes the design of a ZigBee-based wireless sensor network. This system studies a ZigBee-based WSN system, and proposes the design of a node. Selecting the highly-integrated CC2530 greatly simplifies the system peripheral circuit design, and enhances the reliability of the nodes and RF performance. Temperature acquisition is implemented for verification of the system. According to different applications, the user can select different sensors to adapt to the tasks.
