LISBETH ZEGGANE I’m an interior designer driven by the belief that great design has the power to transform lives. I gravitate towards interior spaces that combine elegance, sophistication, imagination, and artistic expression. From residential renovations to commercial build-outs, I enjoy working closely with clients towards a shared vision while seeking out new and innovative ways to approach concept-driven design.
SOMERSET HOUSE Single Family Residence | Extensive renovation and remodel | Chevy Chase, MD 3,204 sq. ft. | Originally built in 1990 |Completed in 2019 The scope of the work included an extensive remodel of the existing 3,204 sq. ft. apartment with a new addition for the living room. The primary goal was to optimize the original footprint of the existing home and to rework the floor plan to focus on a modern minimal casework details with a distinct emphasis on textures and materials. Similarly, the extremely hexagonal layout was reworked to create less restricted spaces and to utilize the usable footprint. The home was simplified and modernized by removing detailed molding, increasing the height of doorways to take advantage of already high ceilings and removal of interior doors. We mixed all of these styles into one very glamorous and edited collection of spaces ready to be enjoyed by the homeowners

HIGHER G R O U N D S C AF E Cafe - George Washington University | Redesign | Washington, D.C. 1139 sq. ft. | Completed in 2017. George Washington University was looking to update their Mt Vernon Campus’ café to create a more inviting space for students to hang out and do school work. By using the current furniture and creating a bright and warm design, I was able to incorporate color and life back into the Higher Grounds Café. Through rebranding their logo, redesigning the entire layout, and incorporating additional furniture and plants the café developed a warm and cozy atmosphere that any student would want to hang out and stay for a while.

C AP S T O N E D I L LY DAL LY Dilly Dally is an inviting spot that integrates both shopping and dining into one seamless experience. By shifting and overlapping the four x and y quadrants of the building’s rectilinear shape this creates a well-balanced space for shopping and dinning. This harmonious blend also offered a third space—a nesting area that presents the customer with an atmosphere of simplicity. Through the customer’s venture in shopping and dining they discover these pockets of nesting, a calm shelter of relaxation from their surroundings. Dilly Dally is as much of a place to wander around, shop, and dine, as it is a place to relax and stay for a while.

L U X U RY S K Y B OX This luxury skybox was designed for Aloha Records, a large record company that fosters collaborations with highly talented and diverse musicians. Their foremost genre of music is tropical house; this music has an uplifting and relaxing sound with island instruments, drums, and marimbas. Designed with warmth and care, the main and upper meeting and sleep area of the skybox is a tropical bohemian oasis. The skybox is a mix of contemporary design, shaken up with tropical luxury, where colors are always bright. In addition, I developed a new logo for the record label company and creating environmental graphics. Ultimately, the skybox helps Aloha Records creates an exciting contrast with the vibrant and playful music.

CUSTOM C AR P E T As apart of the Durkan Carpet discover design competition the scope of the project-included designing a custom carpet for the Ballroom & Pre-function areas of a new hotel development in Lisbon, Portugal. Each carpet was to be designed as separate components, but to coordinate with a large repeat of patterns, textural elements, layering to create one large floor design. Inspired by Portugal’s Azulejo Tiles I used the geometric patterns and ornate shapes to create a modern new pattern while keeping the artisan tile tradition alive.
