Eco Design Regulations for electric heating

Zehnder products are included in the Virtual Worlds design software meaning you can see how your radiator will look in your bathroom before it is installed.

Zehnder products are available in the EQ software package, making it easy for showrooms to add these to an overall bathroom order.

Since 1st January 2018, all electric local space heaters manufactured for sale in the EU must comply with a minimum efficiency standard under Lot 20 of the Energy Efficiency Directive. This was one of the biggest changes the electric heating industry has experienced in decades.

Zehnder products that fall within the scope of the Eco Design Directive offer high quality performance with efficient controls to help reduce unnecessary energy wastage and running costs including;

• Low energy consumption when on stand-by (<0.5 watts) Programmable operation (weekly)

• Open window detection

Zehnder Low Energy Continuous Fan Ø100mm

Continuous ventilation ensures a continually fresh environment with a constant low level trickle. The automated boost fan mode will come on if there is a high level of moisture in the room.

This low-noise, low-energy design costs as little as £1.50 to run for the entire year. It operates discreetly in the background, ensuring mould and condensation are kept at bay. SMART humidity and timer controls eliminate nuisance noise and running, leaving you to relax in the serenity of your bathroom.

Zehnder Adaptive fan with “SMART” timer technology.

The length of time of the fan over-run is based on occupancy duration, up to a maximum run-time of 15 minutes, reducing heat loss and energy usage.

The fan knows the normal humidity level and only activates when spikes occur, providing the right amount of ventilation when required, unlike fans with a generic point that respond to high ambient humidity on a summer’s day and particularly in the middle of the night.
