HOMAGE COLLECTION

Nondumiso Yende’s inspiration was directed by attempting to fill the market gap for African athleisure apparel. This led her to design a sports luxe interpretation of South African township culture. This range called “Homage” was created to bring to attention the vibrancy and tenacity of the multi-cultural and diverse South African township space using a medium as relatable as fashion and streetwear. Yende uses an array of vibrant colours and traditional South African fabrics such as Shweshwe combined with more western athletic fabrics to create ready-to-wear outfits that easily communicate African identity and are relatable to all. This range is created as a vehicle to prove that culture is not only acceptable in formal and structured spaces, rather, it is an essential part of who we are as a people, and should be expressed in any and every social sphere.
