The party will take place on ​ Wednesday, April 29th​ at the Fort Mason Center. A very special evening has been planned in collaboration with The Battery, and with creative oversight by Ken Fulk, including artist presentations, specialty cocktails and appetizers, and live entertainment. Ticket sales proceeds support the Museums’ New Art Acquisitions Fund, a crucial source of revenue as they grow their collection. The Aficionado tickets are available for $150 which grant entry from 7 ­ 9pm on Wednesday, April 29th. ZSCA ARTIST:​ ​ TED LAWSON Brooklyn based Ted Lawson combines digital technology with highly crafted traditional sculpting methods to seamlessly produce conceptual abstract and figurative objects questioning the essence of truth that underlies our human existence.

ZSCA ARTIST:​ ​ PETER GRONQUIST Deeply embedded in the rampant American consumerism and gun culture, the work of Peter Gronquist examines the constant collision of man and the animal kingdom through paintings and sculpture. His medium includes using taxidermy and semi­automatic weapons festooned with gold leaf. These pieces humorously questioning who is really dominating whom by displaying the aggressor and the innocent as one. SCULPTURE

ZSCA ARTIST:​ ​ CARLY IVAN GARCIA Carly Ivan Garcia is a neo­abstract expressionist painter who uses striking color palettes to express a dreamlike urban language. Artists such as De Kooning, Gorky and Guston have largely influenced his playful energetic compositions and figurative gestures. Working with oil on canvas, Garcia’s paintings capture and convey the cutting edge of modern day society. Thick paint and free­style are incorporated into his creative process with multi­layers of bold strokes and sketches. ZSCA ARTIST:​ ​ JAMIE MARTINEZ Jamie Martinez’s reconstructed oil paintings explore the role that technology plays in how art is perceived, translated and presented with “triangulism”, a unique process involving the cutting up of images into triangulated segments to express their essential form and true nature.

ZSCA ARTIST:​ ​ ALISON MOSSHART Known as the lead vocalist for the indie rock group “The Kills”, and a member of the band “The Dead Weather” with Jack White, Alison Mosshart’s mixed media works on paper, pen and ink drawings, and acrylics on canvas depict the frenzied sense of motion that she encounters on a daily basis. Depicted with a powerful sense of emotion, we see the influence of Raymond Pettibon, Ralph Steadman and Egon Schiele in her work.

ZSCA ARTIST:​ ​ ASHLEIGH SUMNER Ashleigh Sumner uses a dichotomy of symbols her works, the twin and opposing aspects of life, the good and the bad, perceived angels and demons. Her work also depicts personalities from history and pop culture who reflect this tension – those who were both idolized and condemned by society and the public at large. Sumner’s heavy use of spray paint is often used through out her work as “graffiti ramblings” involving the use of songs, lyrics, and symbols often repeated. Sumner is a self­taught artist living and working out of the Arts District in Downtown, Los Angeles.

ZSCA ARTIST:​ ​ BENITO RANGEL DE MARIA Benito Rangel de Maria received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from Lake Forest College in Chicago, IL, with a concentration in printmaking with a focus on monotypes. Born in Michoacán, Mexico in 1970, the artist grew up in a Latino neighborhood in Chicago bordered by pockets of diverse ethnic cultures that ultimately influenced his outlook on the world. The Blaze series utilizes markings as navigational tools that aid and show direction. Comprised of crosses, circles and bands, these markings, or “blazes”, encourage further exploration, intersecting boldly in undefined environments that pave new paths. ZSCA ARTIST​ : ​ IAN ROSS Ian Ross “without the burden of intention” and reacts to each moment with bold graffiti inspired forms and colors. Ross has developed his unique style for 20 years and takes great pride in his spontaneous method. His street art style has become widely accepted and revered in a fine art realm. He has become known as the “Start­up Artist” painting live murals in high tech offices for Companies like Facebook, Google, Gap, Old Navy, Vendini, Alphaboost, AdRoll and Zimride. Ross completed his BFA in Ceramics from Long Beach State in 2003 and has relocated back to his hometown Marin County. ZSCA ARTIST:​ ​ ERIC ZENER Eric Zener is best known for his paintings with water as a primary element. Water has been the source of a variety of narratives that appeal to many people: spiritual and physical renewal, cleansing one's soul, taking the plunge and nostalgic memories of play from childhood. Eric Zener's work has been exhibited in the United States, and internationally, for over 20 years. His work has been featured and reviewed extensively in art magazines and other publications. Apart from gallery representation his work has also been included in museum shows and international residency programs.
