7. UK plain water exports

Imports from key countries including France, Italy and Turkey were up from 2021 volumes. The other two important importers, Ireland and Spain, saw a significant volume decline in 2022. Before the pandemic, in 2019 imports were showing a decline across multiple brands and countries. However, in 2022, total imports reached 597.8 million litres, France continued to be the largest exporter of plain water to the UK with 337.7 million litres imported in 2022, which was up by 11.4% on 2021 volume. Evian’s volume decreased by 5.4% while Volvic and S. Pellegrino were up by 0.9% and 3.5% respectively in 2022. Their combined imported volume reached 461.4 million litres in 2022 - 10.7 million litres less than in 2021
