DJ ALICE GYAL Tell us about yourself? My real name is Sanyu Aisha, originally Ugandan #EastAfrican..., Staying in France thou I’ll De France since 2011. I have a French family that’s why am in France. I gat French kids. I am known as Dj Alice GyaL ... and yea, that’s my stage name. I chose that name because Alice is my Mother’s name...., so it’s like Alice’s little girl Daughter. Tell Us about your childhood? My childhood wasn’t so simple and yet not so hard. Both my parents were soldiers, so I was always controlled. I grew up listening to I RNB N HIP-HOP, Loved music so much that I definitely wanted to become a musician, but I didn’t happen because my father was a strict man.
What influenced you to be a Dj? In this Dj game, I really adore One French Dj based In Belgium.., Dj Lady Styles..., she’s really good and focused .., how I wish I can be like her. Outside Dj, what else do you do? Outside Dj stuff, I have a full-time job, I work from Monday to Friday. And I gat kids as well, hence am really a busy person. But I really gat time for all my responsibilities. Tell us about your experience as a Dj? My experiences as a female Dj... huh..., there’s a lot bad stuff we female djs go through. A lot ..., The thing is, I had to go through a lot to know how I can be a great Female Dj. It’s not so easy, you either be tuff or you quit.
How was growing up in Uganda like? Growing up In Uganda by that time wasn’t so hard because I was living with my parents. Am from a middle-class family, we were not so poor and not so rich, my parents always provided the little they had ... And me I left Uganda immediately after university.
What have you learnt has a Dj? As a Dj, I have learnt a lot of things. But first I have known that we women are powerful. In most cases, Male djs are scared of female djs., coz when a famale Dj steps on the stage, the all crowd gets excited. I have grown into a strong independent woman.
When did you start as a Dj? When I was in my first year at the university, I met some guys that were modelling with EVE Models Uganda and they also used to dance in night clubs doing karaoke etc..., so they convinced me that I was a perfect match..., I joined them, started modelling and dancing, we could do karaoke and miming, it was fun. But then I left shortly coz of some stuff.
What gives you inspiration? What gives me inspiration is the love from my Funs. I have people I really don’t know in person but they love me a lot. That love keeps me going. And the strong female DJs out there that ain’t giving up ..., really that Inspires me a lot.

When did you decide to travel out of Uganda? I travelled out of Uganda in 2010. By that time I was done with my studies, jobs weren’t there, I mean it was hard to get a job with no experience.., so I had to move out. What were the challenges you encountered when you arrived in Europe? When I arrived in Paris in 2011.., the weather, first of all, was tough, it was so cold, the language OMG .., in France few people speak English, and even those who know English, don’t want to speak it unless otherwise. So the language was my biggest challenge, I had to go to School to learn French before everything. How were you able to overcome the challenges? I went to a Language school, studied French, then I started looking for jobs , got one .., I was lucky I had documents already, coz I came with my French kid, so I had documents, all I needed was the language to start my life fresh. What do we expect from you in the next ten years?

In the next 10years, for sure I might be one of the greatest African Female DJs of all time. I might probably be out of the game by then, coz you know am a mother and a woman. ....might get busier, you never know. But I really want to be a role model for some young women out there. The thing is, being a Dj is not only for men.., but even females can also do it and even better. I really want to inspire young ladies out there before I quit. How will you describe Nigerian Music? Nigerian music is the best so far in Africa. And in the future most Africans will quit listening to RNB HIP-HOP, coz African music is taking over. List ten items you can't do without? Ten things I can’t do without.., 1-Music first of all, like I listen to music more than I listen to people. 2-My headsets ..., I always carry them with me.

The world today seems more and more uncertain. Every day, new events sweep us up like a tempest, taking us for a ride we seem unable to control. Everyone seems to be going through one crisis to another. A crisis is a time to test who really we are. In times of crisis, we see the true colours of ourselves and those around us and sometimes it's not pretty. On the other hand, we may also be surprised at the love and support that we find in the most unlikely of places. That is the irony of life. With the devastating wave that is pushing throughout the world, take a moment to picture how your ideal self would handle the situation and ask yourself if you are a match. If not, strive to move closer towards the person you know yourself to be deep down. Don’t fake it, be real when handing your crisis. Were you prepared for the current crisis? Could you have been? Should you have been? What kind of person are you and what kind of person do you want to be? These questions need a reasonable approach. Given the uncertainty that faces us all, it's an appropriate time to take stock of your priorities and goals. To review where you may have made mistakes and to review how you can address this. To

Grown-up my childhood there's nothing you can compare to that bond that I had with my sisters and that to these days when all of us adults. When did you start as a Model? At the age of 19. I loved the fashion world since I was a child.

Who are your role models? Naomi Campbell Michael Jackson Mariah Carey 2baba and P-Square Outside modelling, what else? Outside modelling. I am also a Motivational Speaker and a Social Worker. These two jobs occupy my time. Helping the less privileged is very important to me. I like to give back to society. So. if I am not modelling, I organise Motivational events, where my voice can be held. I love to travel and visit new places when I can. I don't mind going alone, as I like to reserve time for myself. Tell us about your experience as a Model? You have to be confident and be yourself that will keep you going. What have you learnt as a Model? I have learnt to reach out to people and lifting my kind and making life meaningful living for others. If you want something, you have to work hard for it. Sacrifice is the key to the success. What are some common misconceptions people would have about you? Very often, people think I'm a snob just because I have a very sophisticated style. That's hardly the case. I'm actually a very easy going person! I try to be understanding and accept that things are not ideal at times. Compassion is a must in this world The one thing you wish you did in the past but didn't? There is nothing from the past that I regret. I try not to live with regrets, because I would rather mature from my experiences. I want to appreciate the lessons I can take away, moving forward. There is nothing I can do about the past; only what I can do in the present.

How do you approach cover design? I design the book cover myself. I am a professional graphic designer. At what point in your life did you realize you wanted to be a writer? To be frank, I can’t really say. I think, it all started when I was a kid, I read a lot. Since then, I knew I was going to be a writer. Being a writer has been my dream for as long as I can remember, I would write poetry and articles as a child and send them to my local papers. What's the story behind your latest book? My present book “Journey And Hustle” Plus Other Inspirational Articles is an inspirational book that addresses and conveys issues that men and women of today are interested in. Being an inspiration myself, I provided useful messages to help people deal with their day to day life. The book takes the reader to a world of challenge and triumph in spite of limitations. I wrote the book on the beliefs of brotherhood and sisterhood, unity, empowerment, strength and love. With evident simplicity, using my personal life stories, the book explores the paradox of self- esteem and takes you into the world of strong demonstrations in actual human experience. What motivated you to Write this book? The motivation came when I started writing inspirational articles for Zenith Magazine and the response was overwhelming. Many people in this world are going through difficult situations, they need a book like this to give them hope and encourage them to believe that they should not let setbacks curtail their dreams. I hope you love this book as much as I do
What is the greatest joy of writing for you? The greatest joy, I have for writing, it’s the process of plotting. I enjoy the challenge of having a character being twisted the way I want it. I love the freedom to create. To be able to sit in my own little world and bring to life the characters and stories that I hope bring joy to my readers. What do you hope to achieve in your writing career? I must be honest. I want to create an impact. I want my book to be a blessing to someone. A measure of respect is at the top of the list. I want readers to experience something that touches them deep inside. I want that moment of fulfillment. What do your fans mean to you? Right from the very day I started writing this book, my fans were like part of the process. I had to produce a good book that will attract people of all ages. So when I hear from people who have enjoyed it enough to take the time to tell me, it makes all the effort more than worth it. What is the point writing a book if people are not going to find it worthy. So, my fans mean a lot me, without them I won’t be in the writing business. Everything. The loyalty of readers is so powerful and as an author, it is a precious thing. I'm an avid reader and fan of several authors, so I know the time it takes to read and review a book. DJ NOTORIOUS MARSHAL DATELINE: SPAIN
Tell us about yourself? My name is Samuel Israel a.k.a Igwe, a.k.a General artistically called Dj Notorious Marshal. I was born in Oshodi a suburb town in the Lagos State of Nigeria to Ibo parents from Obioma Ngwa local government of aba (Abia State). I attended Central Primary School, Bolade grammar School both in Oshodi, got admitted to Lagos State University to study mass communications, but later abandoned it to seek greener pasture in Europe like my other peers during the turmoil that precedes the Abiola/Babangida June 12 elections saga. For panic of an imminent war, most Ibos left Lagos in 1993 back to eastern Nigeria and my mother & the rest of my siblings did same too, I remained in Lagos where I considered my home-town, from where I travelled to Ghana and processed a travelling document for Italy. I lived in Italy from then, learned the Dj trade, and started promoting events until I decided to relocate to Spain in 2008.
Tell us about your childhood? I was born into a middle-class family of 6, we all grew up and schooled in Lagos so Yoruba, Ibo & English was well-spoken in the family. My father was a music-loving man from whom I also developed the love for music. I developed a passion for music at a very young age that I used to hang around some of the local "Fuji" band that flocks Lagos. But I never ever dreamed of becoming a Dj, rather I was playing football on a high level locally. I was part of the Lagos State Academical team, and also got called up by the Nigerian under 14 national team before I left for Europe. Actually, I got the nickname "Samora Marshal" or "Field Marshal" because of my hard tackling in the defence and the difficulties I give the attackers on the pitch. My dream was to play professional football in Europe, that's why I left my studies and Nigeria in the first place.

How was growing up in Nigeria like? Growing up in Nigeria like every other young Nigerian was full of hope & ambitions. Never imagine I would one day travel out to seek an adventure in Europe, but the coming of Babagida to the reign of power changed the prospect for everyone. When did you start as Deejay? I learnt how to Dj in 1998. Actually, it was just for fun at the beginning. Just for the love for music.

What influenced you to be a deejay? My passion for music influenced me, it was fascinating to me to hear my favourite songs been blended together as one. I used to have cds that I love only a few songs on them and was always wondering how I could put all together in a mix non-stop. Was paying club Djs and even giving my cds out to them telling them the songs I need to have on a mix, due to delay I gets from them to deliver my needs I decided to learn how to mix those songs myself. That's how all of it started.
Who are your role models? My role models are Nigerian Djs Worldwide (They're the best), lots of American Djs like Funk Flex, Kid Capri, Dj Envy, Dj Clue just to name few also inspired me and made me realise that Dj was not just hobby but a way to put food on the table.

I have hosted a lot of International artists & their Africans counterpart, hosted & played in some memorable & important parties & events around Europe. If my work today is been appreciated even in places I have never really travelled to, but because those people were able to download my mix & remixes on the net and they tell me am doing a great job. Thanks to my profession I have been able to travel to places I never imagine I could be, even in my dreams. I make my work ethics and people to speak for me, don't like to tell people this is what and what I have done. I may sound too boastful saying that What have you learnt as a deejay? One thing I have learnt as a Dj is to be humble, steadfast, evolve with the evolutions & keeping real with the game, because when you became popular and highly demanded much is expected from you. People will not remember you for how well you made them dance last night; they'll only remind you're not living up to their expectations. You have to give out your best anytime you're called to service.

Tell us about your childhood? I grow up in Benin city. Nursery and primary were quite interesting because I attended World of faith and Ida primary school. Secondary school was Edo college and did my bachelor degree at Ambrose Ali University. Growing up I loved singing, I was singing with the children's choir and later joined the adult choir in my church then.
How was growing up in Nigeria like? Growing up in Nigeria was fun for me because I actually spent more time with my grandmother who always pampered me and gave me all the freedom I want. Yes, I learnt a lot through that freedom I discovered art and fell in love with it. I started moulding at a very young age at Oloton street in Benin a street behind my grandmother's house they are known for sculpture designs. I was very active in school, did very well in fine art.
When did you start as an Artist/ music Producer? I started music officially in 2011 before then I was into club management and a hype man so I have always been attracted to entertainment.

GREAT EXPECTATIONS
As you are reading this magazine, the sequel to 1988's Coming to America is available on Amazon Prime Video, and features many of the same actors and characters from the original, as well as adding several key cast members. Craig Brewer directs the new movie with Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall again playing central characters, alongside an extended supporting cast. On the night of the debut of the movie, yours sincerely murdered sleep to be the first to watch it. After watching the movie, I was disappointed, because I expected it to better than that especially the storyline. Wesley Snipes as General Izzi. He is both intimidating and fun. Laced with swagger and humour. I really appreciated his dedication to this individual and really shows his versatility. But to me, Coming to America part 2 is not a comedy movie but a romantic comedy as it was in part one. The costuming is divine and beautiful. It portrays African traditional culture. I believe my African brothers will be proud of. The love development between Javelle and his Royal Groomer (Nomzamo Mbatha) was too short. I wish there was more time to explore their chemistry. It was notable in their first scene but wasn't given enough real time to really evolve. But the packaging of the movie is more about letting everyone shine than just a to be the prince.

The movie which was apparently filmed in Rick Ross' house, shows that Artist has great taste. The decor is both culturally beautiful and modern. The backstory plot is worked almost

effortlessly into the current timeline with a flashback clearing up any mystery. It keeps the flow of the movie and introduces the new ensemble quickly. Thus creating a time crunch and the necessity of a love story. And although the writing gets a little sticky, the actor's characterizations keep the movie alive. Like the original, the costuming itself deserves an Oscar. This film has a very distinct feel to the original and they are both unique masterpieces. Every ornate placement of jewellery, and the intricate crowns, gowns and capes and even the background cast are fully decked out. I was enthralled with the craftsmanship and uniqueness of contemporary African couture. That was the winning for the African audience and it paid off. MY TAKE: First of all, the cast is wonderful, and the range of characters from Murphy & Hall are wonderful comic vehicles throughout the whole movie. The additions of Wesley Snipes and Leslies Jones both shine in very distinct roles, as well as the younger women cast as the Princesses as they are so beautiful and talented. This makes the movie worth to watch.
I doff my hat for
the Producer of the movie as the movie enrich the black experience and celebrates the continental heritage and culture of Africa. The appearance of Morgan Freeman to En Vogue, Gladys Knight to Colin Jost, James Earl Jones is delightful if just for the first few scenes and captures the original bravado of the King. To crown it, Davido performing "Chioma my love" was a killer and this will make Nigerians love the movie.

What were the challenges you encountered when you arrived in Europe? The harsh cold climate, language barrier and getting a residence permit were the major challenges I encountered on my arrival to Europe.

inevitable. That doesn't mean you should throw your projects out of the window or abandon your dream. When these failures and setbacks show its ugly head, don't give up. Think about it, right from birth our pains and struggles begin. To enter this world, a baby must leave the comfort and security of the womb and make a difficult and perilous passage through the narrow birth canal. For the mother its a matter of life and death. Some mothers loose their lives in the process of giving birth. Even animals have their own share of pain before giving birth. Take the Eagle for instance before it can soar to the heavens, it must push and peck its way out of the egg. Before a butterfly can delight us with its colors and grace, it must escape from its cocoon. Nothing is easy in this world. Every good thing must sort of undergo some hardship or pains. A diamond cannot be polished without friction, without the jeweler’s chipping, grinding, polishing and buff- ing. Likewise a life cannot be brought to its full potential without undergoing some hardship. Without pains, there is no gains. We suffer so that we suffer no more. We shouldn’t run from troubles, or cower when they loom ahead. We should think of how to solve it. Today, we live in a multidimensional world that change constantly and a world that offers so many possibilities and opportunities. You are born unique, there is only you and you are created for a special reason. Whatever you dream is, don't give up especially in time of difficulty. You may think your dream is taking too long and it's not working and it will never change. My advice is don't give up and don't be discouraged. Stay in faith, keep believing and keep hoping because payday is coming. In life's journey, when things are not working according to plans and grows difficult and the pressure is turned up, that's a sign that your time is near. No matter how dark is the night; it will always break into day. Instead of throwing in the towel, learn to put on a new attitude.
