The town was a part of the Silk Road, and merchants used to rest here during nights.
Mtskheta The Jvari Monastry is the highlight here and it boasts a commanding view of the town below. You can walk around the place while drinking pomegranate and khinkali in stalls hawing on the roadsides. The view is breathtaking and the geography is awesome.
