Being a not-for-profit organisation, they don’t operate like a business, and instead measure their performance based on the outcomes they achieve for the people they care for. Their work seeks to enhance the lives of older people, including those with dementia, and people with learning disabilities, and more than 1,100 individuals benefit from their facilities and services. While many care providers across the UK operate as for-profit businesses, as a charity they stand out from the crowd. These beautiful hand-crafted basins are created by pouring coloured concrete into a mould, which sits inside the purposebuilt machine. The machine then spins rapidly, creating enough centrifugal force to mix the concrete together and push the mould up and out, forming the desired basin shape. Once sanded back and sealed, the aptly-named ‘Whirligig’ basins emerge with unique patterns, creating an entirely bespoke basin. ripplesbathrooms.com
