As Absolutely covered in our last issue, celebrated chef Chris Wheeler has returned to Buckinghamshire to delight customers with his new venture.

Chris Wheeler, former Executive Chef of Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire for nearly 20 years, has taken over The Crown Inn at Farnham Common, and Absolutely joined the official opening on Saturday 4 February. The newly named Chris Wheeler at The Crown Inn will have something for everyone on the new menu – from bar snacks and small plates to classic British dishes and fine dining experiences. This venue was chosen for the new venture as it allows the mix of personal and business to smoothly fuse.

Chris is co-owner alongside local businessman Russell Allen. Both hope that his return to the Buckinghamshire food scene will be a triumphant one, and that The Crown Inn will become the beating heart of food in the local area. The Crown Inn aspires to be a hub for foodies, business meetings, private functions and weddings. An events calendar will be coming soon and will feature set menus, themed nights and a farmers' market.

The opening event suggests their target will be met. Local VIPs were delighted to sample some of Chris’s cooking, which as expected was of the highest quality. Special guests included Rosemary Shrager, Dame Denise Lewis, and chef Jean-Christophe Novelli. We look forward to returning to properly tuck into Chris’s menu.
