ON-GOING, YORKSHIRE SCULPTURE PARK
Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) has announced the fi rst UK museum display of work by the highly acclaimed North American artist Daniel Arsham. Six of Arsham’s bronze sculptures will be shown outdoors in the 18th-century Formal Garden at YSP including Bronze Extraterrestrial Bicycle (2022), Bronze Eroded Bunny (Large) (2022), and the three-metre tall Bronze Eroded Venus of Arles (Large) (2022) – Arsham’s retelling of the ancient marble statue of Aphrodite from the 1st century BCE.

8 November HAREWOOD HOUSE Spearheaded by Yorkshire-based garden designer, Alistair Baldwin, The Yorkshire School of Garden Design has commenced its fi rst term this month. Alongside the Diploma Course, the Yorkshire School of Garden Design also o ers a calendar of short courses for both professionals and amateurs, with 8 November’s course entitled ‘Designing and Delivering a Show Garden’, held at Harewood House. ysgd.co.uk

A new book sheds light on some of the very best film noir
Film Noir Portraits is a collector’s edition of essential genre portraits by era-defi ning studio photographers such as Robert Coburn, Ernest Bachrach and A.L. Whitey. Film Noir Portraits, published in November 2022 by Reel Art Press, includes unseen images and previously unpublished outtakes

Dolores del Rio, George Raft). Harrogate Theatre o ers a brilliant selection of shows all year round and Christmas is no exception
Harrogate Theatre’s award-winning pantomime is celebrated across the town and beyond, and this year Aladdin will be flying in from Wednesday 23
November 2022–Sunday 15 January 2023 full of fantastic characters, pun-tastic jokes and dazzling sets and costumes. Whether you’re 3 or 103, the pantomime is fun for all.
But it’s not just pantomime that
Harrogate Theatre has to o er this time of year. It also programmes a large variety of music and entertainment at the theatre,
Royal Hall, Harrogate Convention Centre and other spaces around the town.
Cracked Nuts – Camper Than Christmas (Wednesday 7 December) is a cabaret remake of the ballet classic, The Nutcracker, complete with sugar plum fairies, toy soldiers and snowflakes… but with a brilliant drag comedy twist! This will be taking place at Cold Bath Brewery so grab a drink and bring your biggest laughs to this alternative high energy Christmas show.
The Bootleg Beatles (Thursday 8 December) are set to delight audiences with their popular tribute to the Liverpudlian legends. From ‘Love Me Do’ to ‘Let It Be’, they’ll be performing all the hits we know and love. Classical cross-over group Il Divo will sound incredible at the Harrogate Convention Centre (Saturday 10 December) before The Bon Jovi Experience (endorsed by Jon Bon Jovi himself) promises all the hits including ‘Livin’ On a Prayer’, ‘Always’ and ‘It’s My Life’ (Tuesday 13 December). As we get closer to Christmas, Take That’s Greatest Hits are performed live on stage in Re-Take That (Thursday 15 December) and 80’s Mania (Sunday 18 December) dances into town.
The theatre is also already selling tickets well into the new year as well so keep an eye out for Dave Spikey (Friday 20 January), The Neil Diamond Story and the popular Hyena Comedy Club (Saturday 21 January).
