KISS AWAY CANCER WEEK During the week of February 11, Epsilon ran booths outside the Union and hosted a percentage night at Chipotle. Between these two fundraising efforts, we were able to raise $1,040.13 for Breast Cancer Awareness & Education! Epsilon also won the Pink Out Contest at a recent women’s basketball game, bringing in an additional $500 for our philanthropy.
A NOTE FROM OUR VP OF PHILANTHROPY My name is Lindsey Landwehr and I am honored to serve as Epsilon’s VP of Philanthropy for 2019. Being a Zeta Tau Alpha encompasses many aspects, but one of the most important is supporting ZTA’s philanthropy: Breast Cancer Awareness & Education. We support the efforts of the American Cancer Society, Bright Pink, and, most recently, the 32 teams of the National Football League, allowing our efforts to reach over five million fans nationwide. Breast cancer, unfortunately, is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women. It is so important that we, as women, support other women. As VP of Philanthropy, I am most excited for our upcoming biggest event of the semester: Call for a Cure. Call for a Cure is an event that allows our members to bond as we host a day-long call-a-thon. Members are encouraged to reach out to their best friends, family, cousins, neighbors, or roommates to ask for donations to our philanthropy. While girls are at the house calling people and sending them the link to donate, we have many other fun activities going on throughout the other parts of the house. We are even exploring the idea of getting a band to come play for part of the day! I am also excited to announce a new event coming to Epsilon in the fall! We are waiting to release what it is until more logistics are worked out, but I’ll give you a hint – this event will involve many different chapters of Greek Life and an activity that many of our members enjoyed participating in during high school! Stay tuned for more information coming soon. ZLAM, Lindsey Landwehr
