ABSTRACT Images/drawings of architecture primarily act as documentation of structures to help the audience (architects or clients) understand how architecture functions: the sense of space, physical relationship with the context, and circulation through different programs. Nevertheless, architectural images that focus not on functionally determine spaces but rather on an idea or provocation, also play a significant role in the representation of architecture. The role of architecture in these kinds of images can be beyond a shelter or accommodation. It can set up a stage to deliver messages; discuss historical, social, economic or political issues; or to express emotion or desire. As a knowledge of base, this thesis project would research why and how the architects/artists make the images in certain way to accomplish their expected effect by comparing the chosen images particularly on architects/artists’ decision making on the scale of architecture pieces, not functionally determined spaces, materiality and pictorial perspective of the images and how these decisions result in different effect or affect.

Connecting to the newly renovated Landmark Building is a new laboratory tower 421 PARK with a flagship grocery store on the ground floor, a twin tower of the connected laboratory 201 PARK. 421 PARK follows the industrial theme of the hub TIME OUT Market at Landmark which join all 3 buildings together. Extensive use of metal and full size windows are the key characters of this building. Besides the core-shell design of the laboratory tower, the outdoor working area at the porches with carefully planted greenery and the rooftop cafe are the highlights.

The Project proposes to convert the existing retail center into a dynamic mixed-use center, respond to current market demands and provide an attractive place where people can shop, work and live. Programs include retail, office, laboratory and restaurant. The Project will maintain existing active mall Cambridgeside Place with the sky-lit atrium which is a historical landmark of the city of Cambridge; renovate the former Sears building and turn it into a mix use conjunction of retail and office/laboratory. Along First Street, proposed open space improvements will result in active streetscape and animate Canal Park.Ground-floor are dedicated to commercial uses facilitating the office/laboratory and residential towers while helping to foster a welcoming pedestrian environment along the building’s perimeter.

An aged 5-story townhouse was converted into a guesthouse housing 5 bedrooms which allows 11 guest in one time. The new house is a fusion of Nordic and simplified industrial style. Each room is assigned a unique color private bathroom. The long narrow configuration calls for center atrium allow lights to reach all the rooms leaving no dark zones. The paintings were specially design, silently echoing the local culture.

This project is a full-scale creative play space out of corrugated cardboard at Melourne ArtPlay tailored to five- to eight-year-old children who are encouraged to freely explore these dynamic spaces. Limited number of 2400 x 1200 mm sheets of corrugated cardboard are used to create a materially efficient and structurally sound habitable installation. “Stacking” is the only construction technique and spatial device. Different types of spatial relationship are achieved by this simple technique. Children can explore windows, tunnel, doors and more with their creative mind.

The project is driven and formulated through a series of edge conditions. We developed a constraint for the massing which is driven by the edge conditions of the site context (building heights, length, and widths). The massing itself is also formulated and constructed through surrounding buildings, borrowing at least one building within the constraint (in addition to multiplying the use of some of the buildings). The manipulations are driven by the clashing that results with in the constraint with consideration of the spaces being created.

The Jetsons
The Jetsons live in “Orbit City,” the 1960’s version of a futuristic city. Their flying cars, pneumatic travel tubes, revolving floors, floating buildings, video calling and robotic maids are all aspects of life in the future that are so prevalent throughout the series. Some of these “futuristic” ideas are no longer out of reach, like video calling and revolving floors, but other components are still unknowns in today’s world. These various technologies allow quick travel between other countries and other planets, and the expanse of the Jetson’s world is seemingly endless.

Gowanus Canal is seriously polluted by the industrial factories contaminants in 19th century. Gowanus Eco Park is proposed to be a sustainable remediation field station. The park also act as a research education center that contains 4 programs. A museum exhibits the history of Gowanus; classrooms connected with a lab for education purpose which research and examine remediation solutions; a exam field to test and grow plants that can adapt to local condition. The land is raised to resist flood. The park functions differently When water reaches different levels.

The Helix of Favignana
The Helix of Favignana structure is intended to be a part of the landscape rather than an autonomous object. The majority of programs are contained within a helix volume that wraps around the base of the fortress. The pitch of the helix is defined by the contours of Favignana, and the diameter relates to the fortress of Santa Caterina. The building itself is integrated with the contours of the site, partially exposed only towards the East and West orientation.

Alien Planet: Riders should feel a strong sense of dread. Riders can hear an alien stalking them and catch glimpses of it through the foliage.
Quantum Scene: Riders try to make sense of this strange geometric world filled with abstract visuals. Riders will be able to see themselves being split, bent, and twisted.
Riders stop at a clearing and are attacked by an alien!
City Scene: Riders move up through askew skyscrapers and folding buildings. The rider should feel disoriented. Riders appear to be running into a building wall before they transition to the next scene.

Takeoff: Riders are engulfed in a majestic view of Earth and space. Riders will have a feeling of excitement and wonder.
Return Home: Riders enter a tunnel with familiar images of our solar system overhead. Riders will feel a sense of relief after narrowly escaping.
Narration: Your captain and the ship’s computer provide a voiceover narration of the experience. The rider will hear the captain struggle to repair the WarpDrive, and comment on each scene.
Concept
The future of theme park and attraction design begins with fully rendered attraction designs, focusing on augmented reality, virtual reality and 3D technologies. By intergrating the HSI Immersive system with 3D LED screens into rides, users will have a tour which arouse all their 5 sense which makes story time become more realistic.

• The world’s oceans contain more than 50 trillion pieces of plastic • Not a single square mile of surface ocean anywhere on Earth is free of plastic pollution • All marine animals ingest and/or become entangled in plastics causing death and destruction of ecosystems • Marine animals do not have a voice to project the issues that they face every day. We are their voices and we need to make the stand to change marine environment quality for planet Earth. • Our campaign is to promote the message of recycling and to encourage students to participate in recycling all plastic products and to begin using reusable materials such as glass and metal products • •

We propose the idea of providing an affordable shop hub with its own storage place for every trader. The hub is a standardized 3X3X3m box constructed by timber beams structure; the color and materials of building skin of each box will be determined by the shop owners’ own imagination and choice. The boxes are stacked and connected by stairs and ramps, and every seven boxes form a block with accommodations on top levels and trading on lower levels; the blocks are connected by corridors that circle around the building.
