Polder Unbuilt Intertidal Zone Design

Building an ideal wetland ecosystem.All kinds of organisms living in this ecosystem should be sustainable and balanced, and can coexist with human activities.

The design provides a path for visitors to explore a one-day tour. Visitors depart from the commune,go through activities like mountain walking and engage in outdoor activities.

Fishing TownMangrove-Breed Aquatics Zone

The combination area of mangrove fishery and aquaculture. The villages along the water in this area can be maintained, the local villagers can still practice in seafood farming and also gain income from tourism.

Mangrove Main Recovery Zone

This is the main growth area of mangroves. Human activities in this area are confined to establishing secure and less disturbing habitats for local organisms. This area will be one of the stay areas for wetland migratory birds. Visitors can carry out wetland exploration activities here.

Mangrove Pioneer Zone

The embankments of reclaimed land in this area have been wholly removed, and the sea tide has a significant impact on mangroves, forming a large beach here. This will also be the location of the fisherman's Wharf. People can go to the sea from here.

The effective mode of the device

As the restoration of mangroves has changed the source of income for local fishermen, local residents do not need to earn income from fishing at sea as they did. We can recycle the waterproof fishing lights on fishing boats and put them into the water to increase the biomass of phytoplankton in the water in the form of supplementary light to boost the process.

Analyze Terrian by Section

Terrain trend analysis includes analysis of slopes, elevations, degrees of depression, and light-receiving surfaces. The graph can provide guidance for the confirmation of the design area, and can effectively direct the placement of nodes and the botanical design.

The existing steep ridges are identified and treated in different ways, with a common goal to create a scenic natural view. The steep ridge along the line becomes the treatment focus in the

design, with the main design content placed along the steep ridge. The treated steep ridge presents a messa-like structure as shown in the figure.

One-Day Tour Experience

The design provides a path for visitors to explore a one-day tour . Visitors depart from the commune on the south side, pass through activities like mountain walking and fruit collecting experience in the morning, stop in the open-air lunch area at midday, engage in outdoor development and agricultural experience activities in the afternoon, and return to the camping hut under the forest on the south side.

Main Design Points in the Plan

The treatment of steep ridges can be in combination with some recreational activities. Examples include the construction of seats on retaining walls, the use of retaining walls as a guide for excursion paths, and the appropriate placement of potted plants on retaining walls.

The site is located in Hangzhou, China. The scheme seeks to renovate several high-rise residential buildings located in the center of the plot, referencing architectural functions and integrating them into

a renovated residential buildings, creating a multi-functional aerial communities. Part of the residents' daily lives can be done in the aerial community, avoiding the risk of infection caused by commutes.

The small buildings in the nearby park are packed with natural surroundings.

Warehouses tend to have entrances for the loading and of supply vehicles.

The Residences are arranged in clusters with enclosure.

Large stadiums have a introverted and outgoing features.

Small residentces are neatly arranged, connected by streets as a whole.

The floor slabs of the existing frame structure buildings were demolished and gradually replaced. People can go to various areas as if they were walking in an outdoor neighborhood. The placement of building blocks is designed by the residents, and eventually each three-dimensional community will have a different appearance.

DesignShowcase

On the roof is a tower crane that can be moved along a circular track. A circular aerial corridor and recreation space were designed next to the track. The space below is a patio where residents can also do activities.

Located in the middle of the three-dimensional community, the platform becomes a semi-outdoor space where tables and chairs can be placed. It is suitable for outdoor offices, meetings, and events.

Circular ramps allow residents to see the surrounding cityscape, and also serve as a node linking other three-dimensional communities, which can undertake activities for tourists and residents of other communities.

The completed three-dimensional community is designed by the spontaneous participation of residents, each of which is different and connected to each other by bridges.

Located in the southwestern part of China, Qingbaijiang District was once a major industrial area and now serves as the departure point for China-Europe express trains, where bulk goods produced in China are loaded onto trains from railway ports and sent to Eastern European countries. In the future planning, Qingbaijiang District will become an ecological city demonstration area, and the design plot is close to the railway port and has an intersecting water system, which is the main content of the design.

Stage1:Heavy Industrial Zone

Qingbaijiang District had been a heavy industrial zone in southwestern China,causing environmental damage in the district, the water system in the site was severely polluted.

Stage2: Railway Port & Manufacturing Center

With the development of manufacturing industry within the district, the district became a prosperous manufacturing center. People living in the district hoped for a better living condition with the pollution issue became more serious.

Stage3: A Resilient Landscape in the City

The intersecting water system within the district becomes a main focus of the planning.In the next 20 years, the river will be recovered to its original appearance, and hopefully becomes a resilient landscape that peoplecan live in.

To avoid the problem that the design cannot be executed due to the excessive dependence on the subjective judgment of the designer and the lack of persuasiveness, it is necessary to locate and solve the problems in the site by using hydrological analysis software and data access.

The location where the trains meet becomes the main design point. Three different zones serve as the main performance zones of the three trains.

I tried to finish a landscape engineering course in a more creative way, and the result is also selected.

A Three-Dimensional Flower bed Design

The flower bed is located in the Beijing Forestry University, near the research center. The idea of the design comes from the process of creating things.

A flower border project that also became a creative product design in a later competition.The illustrations of the flower border show how different species of vegetations grow together.

Landscape Engineering Course Assignment

Students are required to do an assignment about earthwork balance, and the slope of the park roads need to be within the design standards limit. A graph shows how every park roads along the slope is considered.
