Outreach Ministry Sunday Emphasizes God’s Call to Serve Others

Zion Hill celebrated Outreach Ministry Day on Sunday, March 19, 2023 with prayer, praise, worship, and a call for more worshippers to move beyond the sanctuary. The celebration hosted by the March, June, and July Clubs placed a laser focus on the many organizations locally, nationally, and even internationally that continue to enjoy blessings because of Zion Hill’s obedience to God’s call to love and serve others.
Sister Gwendolyn Buchanan, Outreach Coordinator for the June Club Ministry, greeted members and friends and declared that all who serve and give their time, talent and funds are philanthropists who are appreciated for their love and service.
Sister Donna Watts-Nunn followed with an emphasis on Zion Hill’s unwavering commitment to the Church Motto of Living to Love and Loving to Serve. She provided several examples of services provided by the church that include the Care to Love Outreach Ministry’s provision of 300 lovingly prepared meals monthly for the homeless, financial support for Atlanta University Center schools, and the meals provided for students in a Liberian school through ongoing financial support from Zion Hill.

The greatest demonstration of Zion Hill’s commitment to service included thankful testimonies. Ms. Tanya Watkins, Director of Development for the Nicholas House, emphasized the year-round support of the June Club. She spoke of the Club’s commitment to serving meals, assisting with back-to-school supplies, sponsoring a room for a homeless family, and adopting a family at Christmas.
