INTRODUCTION Between 1955 and 1990, Dan Kiley did over 40 projects in and around Columbus, Indiana. To our knowledge, this is the largest concentration of his work in any city. He is well-known both locally and nationally for several significant projects in Columbus, but few people know about the many other projects, large and small, he worked on. At the same time, he is sometimes credited with projects that he did not do. Using the Columbus Indiana Architectural Archives collection and a variety of other materials, we have begun to recreate a record of Kiley’s work in Columbus and in Bartholomew County and to assess what remains of each project. While we have made considerable progress, there are still many projects that require further research. The exhibition was originally curated by the Columbus Architecture Archives in 2014 and the Stuckeman School installation is the second exhibition of this curated work. The dates shown on the projects are from Dan Kiley: The Complete Works of America’s Master Landscape Architect by Dan Kiley and Jane Amidon (New York: Bullfinch Press, 1999) and indicate the year in which Kiley began work on the project, not the year in which the project was completed. In some cases, work on the building design began a year or two before Kiley became involved. Funding for the Pennsylvania State University exhibition was provided by the Department of Landscape Architecture and the Stuckeman School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.

TYPOLOGICAL RESEARCH
The exhibition is augmented by analytical work completed by students in the Spring 2015 Landscape Architecture Design and Implementation II: Planting Design course (LARCH 332) led by Professors Ron Henderson and Maria Debije Counts. Each student researched planting typologies using species taken from one of Kiley’s projects and completed diagrams to represent their findings. The research that is represented in the diagrams explores planting typologies and phenological or morphological nuances within each tree species through canopy growth, seasonality, texture, growth in caliper, structure, and form, among other topics. The typology models, Miller Garden model, and North Christian Church model included in the Stuckeman School exhibition explore the physical and spatial implications of each typology. Over two thousand trees were made by the students for the exhibition. Planting Typologies one tree / row two trees / allÊe grid bosque quincunx forest hedgerow
