HERBARIUM
01
This project focuses on the emittance of light through parametric design. The Herbarium, located at the Whitney Museum in Manhattan, New York, is transformed into a research facility for a Botanical Garden. The center is also open for public usage and connections. The design includes a complex membrane where light is an integral component of its makeup. The Biomimic wall is responsive to changes in light as well creating spaces. Activation of the wall occurs through natural lighting. The system occupies two construction planes that begins to demark intersections and enclosures in the interior. A system is the source of illumination that changes how humans interact and dwell within the space. Not only does this light-emitting wall begin to spatially organize the two floors, but it also becomes a functional aesthetic contributer to the research facility. The public may also interact with the system because it is also the main circulatory aspect other than the main core. Both floors embody the effects of light through furniture layouts and materials. The Botanical Garden becomes a landmark in the Manhattan area.
Interior Perspective The system that emits light into the space also becomes a medium for a research facility by having an irrigation system placed inside of the wall that can sustain live plants as well as dormant seeds. The other side of the plane includes research facilities including a library, office pods, and conference areas. Cross Section

02
This Project is based a space design for at-risk-youth in the Knoxville, Tennessee downtown area. Through the research done of the site analysis, many visual distractions occur around the site therefore a need for a refuge and solace interior is plausible. The at-riskyouth center targets student from the ages of 13-21 who suffer from ADHD. Some of the main symptoms that people with ADHD suffer from include lack of focus, hypersensitivity, depression, anxiety, and slower comprehension. The Yoga center is a non-medicinal solution for these students. The Aerial Yoga is a meditative as well as a stimuli that allows people to exert any excess energy. The concept of the design derives from a surrealist outlook. The idea 4 of defamiliarization and creating an out of world experience is showcased through the materials and the furniture layouts. The concept also deploys a sense of carving out forms from a space. The concept is evoked through the reflected ceiling plan and other lighting schedules.

Sectional Perspective
The Tally Residence is a project that included an artistic client in need of housing as well as a work environment. The client for this project is a wood worker and specialist. The concept is to connect a horizontal space with a vertical system that creates an ambiance and also show cases the clients work for any exhibits. The idea behind the wood derives from Modern architecture during the 1920’s style of Design. The shelves in the wall are detachable and adjustable for the clients needs and purposes. The back space is used for a person who is seeking to re-enter society after juvenile disturbances. The person is also available to help the client in her workshop. The first floor is the exhibit space. The second floor is the workshop that allows to client to manufacture her pieces. The third floor and the Mezzanine are the living quarters for the client and her family. The concept of the design is also reiterated through the materiality and furniture design.

The circulation is demarked through an aesthetic piece that functions as a display and storage unit for the client. The client exhibits many wood pieces that are heavy so the material choice had to accommodate the physical attributes of the artwork.
