Intelligent New Village of Tranditional Chinese Medicine

Phase Three

Production Space Village Area Main Residensial Area People grow food and vegetables in their backyards and do some rough processing for economic gain.

Over time, the pollution problem became increasingly serious, so people moved farming and processing to the periphery of the village, away from the main residential area.

Scattered family-scale processing plants gradually form scale, and gather into centralized large-scale factories, including various processes of commodity production (production, processing, packaging, express delivery, etc.), and gradually scale up.

07.2021 - 08.2021 2021 UIA-HYP CUP TEAMMATE: Xinyi Shen, Yichen Xia, Zhichuan Qin TYPE: Architecture Design Project / Academic / Team Work KEYWORDS: Rural Planning, "Six Mess"Policy, Artificial Intelligence, New Media TUTOR: Haoyi Chen

Koolhaas argues that large-scale rural planning around the world needs to shift from the previous policy-led approach to planning based on narrow market-driven interests to a new approach that more sustainably enhances the quality of rural life This project is to use artificial intelligence and new media to liberate productivity and enlighten people in the Xiazhai-Jin village after the "six mess" policy. The following describes the first stage of the design of this programme.

DESIGN STAGE 1.1 One Family Dwelling

"When AI replaces repetitive tasks, farmers can do 90% of the work," Kaifu Lee said, “They may only work a few hours a day, and the rest of the time is free to be more creative in art, in science, and to be able to do things that AI can't."

Through the research in the previous stage, we found that there were two core reasons for the living environment affecting people's health in Xiazaijin Village. One is the unreasonable arrangement of architectural space, the other is the lack of communication and interaction with the outside.

DESIGN STAGE 1.2 Collective Housing

New Media System

In the design of this stage, we still followed the principle of artificial intelligence to liberate cheap productivity. In practical application, the types of crops, planting area and sales demand are completely different from that of single household, so the specific systems and operating machines are different. In addition, in this architecture, we increased the education space under the new media system. By joining an Internet education platform, ensure that farmers can get the education from experienced teachers at a fraction of the cost.

Some poor families in India are mak ing ceramics by hand to support themselves.

There are also small factories in India. The ceramic embryos are made by outdated machines and then transported and fired by workers.

Workers paint patterns on traditional ceramics(also called azulejos) made by machines in Portugal. Azulejos always decorates walls of churches, monasteries, palaces, park seats, fountains and train stations

In some countries with a long history, such as China and Turkey, there are many folk artists who draw elaborate traditional patterns by hand on ceramics while some scientists experiment with how to color ceramics in the USA.

Many technologically advanced places already have automated ceramics factories and 3D printers. People can customize a large number of unique ceramics to their own needs.

FLOW CHART

THE INNER STRUCTURE 01 Zircon stone is mainly found in seashore sand deposits which are scattered around the coast. The mining ship collects the sediment mixed with ore by means of dredging and lifting from the seabed. It carries out the first simple screening on the ship to remove the sediment and retain the deposit.

02 In the chemical plant, zirconite will be purified by reaction with a series of chemicals, and finally zirconia

Cause the ceramics can not stand the torque, the inner structure must transfer the torque into axial force.

The inner structure is made of steel to realize the changeable body

To improve structural rigidity, threaded connection may be the best way to connect steel bar and steel ball.

crystals will be precipitated from the sedimentation tank.

03 However, these zirconia crystal particles are still too large, because the voids and porosity are still too large, which will result in insufficient strength of the fired embryo. Therefore, zirconia crystals need to be sent into the chemical plant for chemical vapor phase method, after which nano-sized dust will be obtained. 04 Nano-sized particles are shaped into embryos by mechanical compression moulding in the factory instead of relying on traditional manual processes.During the compression moulding process, tiny gas is further discharged to reduce the porosity. Finally, a dense embryo body is obtained.

Interfacess are connected with center ball by steel bars.

Steel bar and ball are the best choice to form inner structure.

05 The embryo body is baked and molded at a high temperature of 1600 degree centigrade in the firing plant. In the end, a high-strength and high-hardness zirconia ceramic module is produced.

Metaball Chair 1 As the picture show, a curve surface is an intact chair. Moreover, the Chinese elements are integrated into its shape, like the chair which the concubines learn against during the Qing Dynasty.

According to the basic original composition made above, we made some simple furniture attempts, corresponding to two chairs and two tables respectively, trying to integrate the organic form into the furniture.

FURNITURE JOINT ATTEMPT

SERIES FURNITURE After solving the joint, we made a series of furniture and the matching combination form among the furniture, try to use the existing furniture to form a combination of 1+n furniture. The scenes showed below are combinations of desks and chairs formed by ceramics. We want to creat a relaxing atmosphere in which people can have fun with using these furniture.

The junction between the body and the waist of a table

The connection between the waist and the bottom of the table

At the seat back connection, we choose the pink rod with relatively stable direction as the skeleton, and the blue ball as the shape of the plane to appear at

The tail of the chair is the unstable part of the streamline chair, so we choose to use the blue spherical connector to form a plane to stabilize it

In the chair turn to join place, with blue ball joint piece existence more, make its even force

PROGRESS You’ re invited to design the Serpentine Gallery in 2040.

We must choose an element to show our characteristic.

How about a ceramic pavilion ? Traditional material, new formal ?

Maybe we cn try a organic form.

How about metaball? A metaball ceramic pavilion can express our attitude to tradition and innovation.

The sitopia I have in mind is one that simplifies the tedious task of growing and cooking by hand and by machine, and then recreates these two activities as a sport or recreational activity. In the teching building they are located around or in the centre of the teaching area and the rest area.

Grow Fruits Adn Vegetables Of High Economic Value Locally

Historical origins Tea defined respectability and domestic rituals, supported the rise of the British Empire, and contributed to the rise of the Industrial Revolution by supplying both the capital for factories and calories for labourers. Afternoon tea remains a popular activity in Britain in the modern day, and is still considered an important part of the British identity.

H i g h - e co n o my c ro p s s u c h a s blueberries, raspberries and strawberries for afternoon tea desserts can be grown locally in the UK in greenhouses at good value for money.

UK

Selection of crops in the project Many of the fruits used in desserts have a high economic value but are long distances from their origins and costly to transport locally to the UK in low quality and small quantities. It is very easy to grow high value fruit in local greenhouses in the UK, which is more profitable than growing tea, which has a stable and cheap source.

Semaphore is based on the Port du Rhin in Strasbourg, the new headquarters designed for the company SOPREMA. Like a wooded rice field, this ecof u t u r i s t i c b u i l d i n g i s i n s p i re d b y biomimicry and is focused on smart building.

At the heart of the Rice Field is the Agora where everyone meets, enjoys, eats. Crops, such as fruit trees, are enclosed or semienclosed around a communication or working space where people work and grow and maintain crops, and the vertical farm inspires the working animator.

I used botanical patterns and Gothic arches, Windows, gables. By recombination of the naturalistic spirit of the Victorian building, I have abstracted these elements into Spaces of different sizes or inside muscles or arrangements. And used to cut and stack the spatial order of existing buildings The exsiting building without any classical element destroys the integrity of the whole street. Although the architect's idea at the time of design was great and historically groundbreaking, today I have to look at it dialectically. A monumental architectural forms that combine old and new architectural styles, expressing both the past and current architectural is what i want to design impressed by kahn. The arch line, or curved shape of the arch, serves as its moral character, with the forces of gravity and weight from above being temptations for the arch to stray from its intended function. To protect the arch from these temptations, the voussoirs, or the particular stones of the arch, act as its protection against ruin. The connection between man and arch is as follows: “if either arch or man expose themselves to their special temptations or adverse forces, outside of the voussoirs or proper and appointed armor, both will fall.”

Cider Community Center 2020.9.22-2021.1.4 ARC302-Studio : Communities & Contested Spaces TYPE: Architecture Design Project / Academic /Personal Work KEYWORDS: Wooden Architecture, Timber Structure Research, The Crime Rate, Mental Health

Apple trees are commonplace in suburban gardens in the city and when there is an abundant crop fruit is often left to fall and rot on the ground, going to waste. This project allowed residents to donate their crop of apples to the project, receiving in exchange a high quality, hand made, cider or non-alcoholic juice. The apples were pressed by volunteers and a proportion of the product was sold wholesale to local stockists, providing a desirable artisanal product, supporting the local economy and reducing waste. It also provides a place for people to relax in the area with a high crime rate.
