The project is a house that’s both for productivity and leisure. The usage of space is able to transform by a series of rotatable walls by hours and furniture that’s tailored for them. These movement and furniture design provide a new lifestyle which weakens the distinguish between productivity and leisure and creates new human relationships.

Katsura Imperial Villa is a traditional Japanese Building built by Prince Hachijo Toshihito and his descendants in Kyoto in 17th Century. Tatami with dimention 3ft x 6ft, the most feature of the building, is used for the floors of the Villa. It has different layout in different rooms. The terrace and hallway are also created by the arrangement of tatami which provides the opportunities of the landscape view. In addition, the shoji and slide doors are used to connect and separate the spaces created by the tatami mat into rooms.


This project provides a new lifestyle and human relationship to the occupant

boundary of the traditional fixed walls. The function and the connection of the sp

relationship. The distribution and design of some tailored furniture not only stre

municable and interest


ts through the rotating walls and tailored furniture. The rotating wall breaks the

pace can be adjusted in time according to the occupant's needs and the neighbor

engthens the inherent life relationship between people, but also brings more com-

ting human relationships.

The structure frame is based on the module system which is the building scale based on three feet and multiples. Building scale is based on three feet and its multiples. Beacuse this modulus can provide operabilities to some of the rotatable members. For example, the dimensions of the position before and after for the rotatable walls are the same, the size of the door opening (3 feet) or the size of the hallway (6 feet).

THE HIGH COURT HOUSE OF HONG KONG IN 2047 RESEARCH STUDIO

2019 Spring | Pratt Institute Instructor: Peter Macapia Location: Man Yiu St, Central, Hong Kong, China Individual Work

The project is a new supreme courthouse with a law history and information center in Hong Kong. The courthouse has two main courts which are in current Hong Kong common law system and Mainland civil law system. The new courthouse are created to deal with the legal issues after 2047 when one country and two system expires. And the history and information center is a place for people to understand and judge the two legal system correctly and objectively. The building will be located in Central Hong Kong where local people and visitors can have access to the courthouse, information center and free speech plaza for understanding legal inforamtion or express legal claims peacefully.

The school is an art school loacted at Sunset Park where people with different cultural background have settled for a long time. The school will provide oppunities to bring students together with different cultural backgrounds for art study and communication. In addition, there can also be a better communication and influence between different art projects.



In order to create an art school with more communicable oppunitites in this muticultural area, different art programs and culture background spaces are created through being shifted, cut and overlapped. In addition, the green and outdoor activity spaces are created naturally between these spaces. And the central spinned circulation system around the atrium connect different programs and the public spaces.

This dynamic residential tower has both domesticity and sociality in downtown Brooklyn. The iregular shape of each floor provides possibilities of the connection between inside and outside, or one floor and another. The curve shape wall creates the enclosing and strong directive space to provide a unique family life. The feature of home and community in this project reflects the multi-culture of New York City.



The project is located in downtown Brooklyn srrounded by departments, stores, schools and public transportation system. Except the residential area in upper floors, the fuction of the lower floors and plaza enhance the convinence and facilites for the public.



The wall in this project is designed by curve. Because compared with straight lines, the curve has strong ductility, continuity and directivity. These characteristics provide a stronger sense of family for the residential area. For example, the continuation of space from narrow to wide, from small to large allows the natural habitation to guide dwellers from one space to another. The curve wall weakens the boundaries between the living space and circulation space, but the communication among spaces is affluent with its extension and directivity. Additionally, the wall is not perpendicular to the floor, but it is inclined with the direction of the space which strengthens the design of curve wall.

This is a research and design project. In the research section, through the analysis of Louis Vuitton's faรงade, based on the brand's culture, the designer uses brand logo, different materials and lighting effects to create a facade with brand cultural background. In the design part, use a simple geometry, and then change its scale, put materials and design the light to emphasis the structure and circulation inside the mall which could be expected to bring a new shopping experience to customers from the inside to the outside.

Fire Wheel

Choose some shell parts and some small pieces of the original object. Then use Maya to remodel them and rearrange the deformation of the shell parts. Furthermore put the small pieces into the new shell which fits the shape of pieces. Finally make them together into a new object.

Seagram Building The project is based on the Seagram Building. Through the reseach of the facade and structure, we use photoshop, revit, 3Dmax, After affect and Maxwell rendering to change the building to make it interesting.
