COMPACT 90 High performance endmilling solution.
COMPACT MILLING CUTTERS WITH MULTICORNER INSERTS
INCREASED FEEDS HIGHER PRECISION MORE CUTTING EDGES
COMPACT 90 Combining performance, precision and economy. What is the main use of an endmill? It is to productively machine surfaces, shoulders and slots. In most cases this operation is simple, with straight horizontal feed without ramping. With up to six cutting edges and a new double sided insert design COMPACT 90 is the best choice for this task. The COMPACT 90 provides a multi-edge endmilling solution down to 12 mm diameter. The innovative concept delivers higher feeds, preserves tight tolerances and at the same time simplifies your selection for multiple milling operations with one economical solution.
AVAILABLE WITH THE NEW 5050 GRADE! • The new super tough universal 5050 grade exhibits top performance in roughing of steel and stainless steel. It has been developed for the most demanding operations, in particular for 90° shoulder milling. It also provides an excellent solution to high volume removing in titanium machining.
COMPACT 90 FEATURES AND BENEFITS • • • • •
Increased feed per tooth, thanks to the strong double sided insert design Superior tolerance of 90° shoulder through better insert positioning Low cost per edge and low total cost of machining Excellent capabilities to work with long overhangs Reduced inventory owing to simple insert geometry and grade choice
INNOVATIVE INSERT DESIGN g Robust double sided design g Multicorner shape in compact size g Sharp short cutting edge that prevents vibration and chatter g Insert edge located above the seating surface providinga more positive cutting action

COMPACT 90 Positive axial and radial cutting rake are ideal for reduced cutting forces. Insert cutting edge is above the seating surface to provide a more positive cutting action. Symmetrical insert design for CPW4 and CPW6 systems. Can be used in left hand cutter bodies. Ask our technical specialist, left hand bodies can be produced by request.
The smallest 4 cutting edges shoulder insert on the market
WHEN TO USE THE COMPACT 90 MILLING CUTTER? • When productivity is the priority • When low machining cost is chased • When machine surfaces or slots opened at least from one side • When superior 90° wall quality is needed

APPLICATIONS
High wall multipass shoulder
Z-Constant hole or pocket machining
Slotting
Shoulder
Note: No ramping, no helical interpolation, no plunging.
Facemilling
The combined cutter, and insert design of the COMPACT 90 milling cutter generates superior wall straightness in high wall, multi-pass machining compared to traditional AP style cutters and inserts. The COMPACT 90’s insert cutting edge length provides sufďŹ cient depth of cut with a reduced tendency to produce vibrations, and offers higher feed rates for increased productivity.
