Meet Anna Honde
Ex clusive
Anna as an influencer and obviously on a spotlight, how do you manage to keep up with the society’s expectations? Being on the spotlight is something that is very difficult. From being that normal girl who used to do anything anywhere and anytime (partying ha-ha) now it’s different because people know me and I can’t go anywhere without being identified. I’m held accountable for all my actions.

Some people might not know but, Anna how did you rise to fame? What was the spark? How I rose to fame, well I was in China in 2018 working as a dancer. There was a time I was lonely; I Bought a new phone and began recording myself. I was sharing these videos on my personal Facebook profile and people Began to like and share my content. From there, I was approached by many people and my clips were played on big platforms, the fame grew. That’s how I started. When I came back to Zim I was just home and when I went on Internet to my surprise everyone was asking where I had gone. That was a push, and people sent me money for airtime to afford Bundles of Facebook so that I can post. People made me, and I’m sure if I hadn’t gotten people’s support I wouldn’t get this far.
What can you boldly say are the advantages of having a large following on social media? Well , growing up I didn’t have a lot of friends. I was body shamed a lot and I excused myself from friends. Now I have a lot of people greeting me and happy when they see me. I also get paid for this fame. When I show up people love me. The advantage is you get to meet easily with big brands. Its putting food on my table and I’m learning a lot
You’re a young and beautiful lady, does being on the spotlight affect your personal life in any way in terms of secrecy? Wow about that, you know sometimes I drop tears. You know, when you’re on the spotlight, most of the guys want to have you. The traffic is too much. People want to take advantage of you. Some flash a lot of money and just trying to get to you (not for good reasons). Thank God and my family and my parents I’m not easily lured by money.
What’s one thing that people can never guess about
you? Well, when I was in grade 5, I got burnt that I couldn’t walk. It was official that I was never going to walk straight but then I recovered, thank God. Now I can’t walk in heals, I can only wear platforms. I can’t walk in some heals I guess that what people don’t know.
Most of your skits tend to educate and offer awareness on some social issues, do you do that intentionally or it just happens? Its very intentional, most of the things I act its because they are prominent issues and some things, I went through them and some I witnessed others going through them. The intention is definitely to teach others.
As an influencer, do you ever feel like you’re misunderstood? Is it easy for you to make friends since a lot of people wants to be associated with you? The people who believe in my art and love me I actually love them back. It doesn’t matter the scandals; the real ones always have my back.
Life isn’t rosses every time, where do you derive your motivation when you begin to feel like quitting? I actually felt like quitting many times. Sometimes people who I asked to record me were ignorant and refused. People could not spare just 5 minutes of their time to record me. People would discourage me saying I would never get to Madam Boss or Mai TT, that used to discourage me a lot. I just want to be Anna Honde you know. I would cry to my mom and she would pray for me most times.
This brings us to this question, what’s your advice to aspiring influencers that wants to become like you? Do what you love and things will happen effortlessly. Don’t be pressured by people. Also don’t focus on the money when starting, money comes eventually. Be patient, use your phone if you don’t have other resources, we all start from somewhere. All the best!!!
