A
fter a series of great art events in London, New York, Strasbourg and Miami this year, it is now Vienna’s turn, the beautiful culture town Vienna.
It is my pleasure to open the first edition of the Autumn Art Salon at Garden Palais Schönborn – the Austrian Museum of Folk Life and Folk Art. Palais Schönborn is one of the most charming Palais of its genre in Vienna - at least to me, the disintegrating façade adds greatly to the appeal of the palace. A member of the Schönborn family (old Austrian-Hungarian nobility) is the current cardinal of Vienna. The Museum has been in this baroque building since 1917. The historical ambiance makes an attractive place for the artworks of modern artists. Art is a form of communication between people, between countries. In this Autumn Art Salon, you will be able to get in touch with 23 artists from 15 counties and enjoy their artworks, which consist of fine art painting, mixed media, sculpture, metal works, unique handcrafted, jewelers, folk art and glass works. It is a rainbow of styles, colors and ideas. The artists bring their unique culture, history, motives and the different styles and perspectives to art and life.
The participating artists are well known in their countries and worldwide. Many of them won international art awards. Their artworks can be found in fine private art collections and museums around the world. The visitors will be amazed how different artists interpret the reality and abstract world in a single piece of artwork. This is what makes the exhibition so unique. It is a great opportunity for art lovers, art dealers, curators, artists and art collectors from the culture city Vienna to visit this Art Salon and experience a unique and multicultural artistic event. Art is a symbol of peace between countries around the world, it is one language that speaks around the world. This it is wonderful! I hope that this event will have an echo and will mean the beginning of new friendships, and new links between different cultures, different people, different artists. I would like to thank the artists for their collaboration and to wish them great success in their art creation
