PLANO™
Plano™ is a series of tables designed by Pelikan Design. The design is the result of Pelikan Design taking the brief from Fritz Hansen literally and to the extreme. Originally, the brief from Fritz Hansen was to create a dining table with a light expression simply consisting of a surface and 4 legs. Pelikan Design came up with Plano and the signature feature of the tables, the ultrathin and almost “floating” tabletop. Indeed, a light expression, a surface and four almost superfluous legs.
Pelikan Design partnered by Niels Gammelgaard, born in 1944 and Lars Mathiesen, born 1950. They are both architects specializing in industrial design. They favour functional and unpretentious idioms that are minimalist, yet expressive. Characteristic of Gammelgaard and Mathiesen is that they work very broadly in many different areas without losing sight of the issue. For Fritz Hansen they have designed the Decision™ and the Wing™ Screen Wall Series as well as the Plano™ Table Series.

DESCRIPTION

Square, rectangular and circular tables designed by Pelikan Design, manufactured by Fritz Hansen. The table top is available in two different finishes: white laminate or white underlacquered glass. - 13 mm white synthetic laminate - 10 mm glass with white lacquered underside. - 10 mm glass with grey lacquered underside. The table is available with satin or mirror chromed base. The base consists of square profiled steel with edges in moulded zinc. The four legs are cylindrical Ø38 mm steel tubes that are mounted or dismantled without tools. The legs have chromed steel feet with hidden synthetic ferrules. The feet can be adjusted by 30 mm in height without any tools. The range of accessories includes linking devices. The tables can be linked by length, width, in an angle and into a horseshoe with fittings in blackgrey anodized aluminium.

ENVIRONMENT & TESTS The steel base and the pressure moulded zinc edges can be dismantled for recycling. Table tops made in lacquer or with synthetic laminate are combustible. Table tops made of glass are recyclable or may be left for waste disposal. The tables are tested according to ISO/DIS 8019 Stability, strength and durability, test level 4, ISO 7172 Stability, Surface resistance, test level 5 according to DS/INF 132.
WARRANTY Standard goods have warranty for five years against manufacturing defects (i.e. materials and design). The warranty does not cover leather and other fabrics ordered as customers own or special material. Normal wear and tear and damage of covers are not covered by the warranty. Fritz Hansen offer up to 10 years limited warranty if the products are registered online at fritzhansen.com/my-republic. The warranty for wicker, rugs and lamps is 2 years.
