Zizzz - our story When my daughter Carmen was born I realized how crucial good sleep is. As a present one of my friends gave me a baby sleeping bag. When she used it she woke up several times during the night, to my surprise it had a polyester filling. Did you ever sleep under polyester bedding yourself? All night long you’re tossing and turning. First you’re too warm, then too cold. It doesn’t breathe properly and makes you feel sweaty. Imagine how your baby must feel, sleeping in polyester for more than 5,000 hours a year. There had to be something better… And so my quest began. I realized there were no sleeping bags on the market offering what I needed: a comfortable breathable natural filling, soft bio cotton fabrics and practical to use. And good looking of course! That is why I decided to create Zizzz. Zizzz has grown up now and we make the whole family sleep better with a complete range of sustainable, ethical and, above all, healthy sleeping products.

Zizzz - nuestra historia Cuando nació mi hija Carmen, nos dimos cuenta de lo verdaderamente importante que es dormir bien. Unos amigos nos regalaron un saco de dormir y al usarlo notamos que la niña sudaba mucho y que se despertaba frecuentemente durante la noche, para nuestra sorpresa estaba relleno de poliéster. ¿Has dormido alguna vez con poliéster? Te pasas toda la noche dando vueltas. Primero tienes mucho calor y después frío. No transpira correctamente y te hace sudar. Imagina cómo tiene que sentirse tu bebé durmiendo bajo poliéster durante más de 5.000 horas al año. Tenía que haber algo mejor... Así dió comienzo mi búsqueda y cuál fue mi sorpresa al descubrir que no había ningún producto en el mercado como el que yo quería: un saco de dormir con un relleno altamente transpirable, práctico y fabricado con materiales ecológicos y sostenibles. Así fue como me decidí a fundar Zizzz. Zizzz ha ido creciendo y actualmente no sólo ayudamos a dormir mejor a niños y bebés, sino a toda la familia.

Natural and sustainable for a healthy and happy future We make products for aduls and children, but don’t want to destroy the world to do so. The materials we use in our products have been carefully researched and selected to be natural and sustainably produced. For example, the first step in our wool supply chain starts with sheep grazing in the Swiss Alps. We also use cruelty-free down feathers and silky-soft organic cotton. Organic cotton grown without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides is kinder to the skin and healthier for the farmers who grow it. The fair price that the Swiss farmers receive for their wool also helps to preserve this traditional sector of the Swiss economy. In addition, our happy sheep also help to maintain the landscape of one of the most beautiful places on earth, as as their grazing helps to prevent erosion! Our production and manufacture take place as locally as possible, to reduce both the financial and environmental costs of transportation. Sustainable development is more than just environmental sustainability – it also includes social development and responsibility. Our logistics partner in Switzerland is the mail-order service of the Bürgerspital Basel. The Bürgerspital provides workers with a disability with an adapted workplace and individualised, active support while they are on their way into the work force.
Natural y sostenible - por un futuro saludable y feliz Fabricamos productos para adultos y niños, pero no queremos destruir el mundo para hacerlo. Los materiales que utilizamos han sido cuidadosamente investigados y seleccionados para que sean producidos de forma natural y sostenible. Por ejemplo, el primer paso en nuestra cadena de suministro de lana comienza con el pastoreo de ovejas en los Alpes suizos. También utilizamos plumas de plumón libres de crueldad y algodón orgánico suave como la seda. El algodón orgánico es más suave ya que se cultiva sin fertilizantes sintéticos ni pesticidas. Esto lo hace más saludable para los agricultores que lo cultivan. Como mencionamos anteriormente, nuestra lana proviene de ovejas criadas en los Alpes suizos. Nuestras ovejas pastan alegreremente en uno de los lugares más hermosos del mundo, y también ayudan a mantenerlo, ya que su pastoreo ayuda a prevenir la erosión. Nuestra producción y fabricación se llevan a cabo lo más localmente posible para reducir los costes financieros y ambientales del transporte. Why do we love wool bedding products? Why are our baby sleeping bags and most of our duvets filled with Swisswool? Wool is breathable, so it allows heat and moisture to pass through it. This keeps your body warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot, for better and more relaxed sleep. Swisswool is a patented natural filling material made from pure virgin wool from sheep raised in the Swiss Alps. Once we have selected the finest wool, we reinforce it with vegetable fibers to make it machine washable. This unique blend allows Swisswool to retain wool's unique wicking properties while also being convenient to use.
Ethically-made down duvets Zizzz also offers superior down duvets. Good quality down has a nice, fluffy feeling and is extremely light. We offer down duvets made with the finest down feathers, but in keeping with our company philosophy. The down in our duvets comes from Eastern Europe, as the colder climate promotes stronger, thicker down feathers from the large birds. Eastern European goose down is extremely consistent, durable and resilient. Our down is DownPass certified. This means that none of our down comes from live-plucked or force-fed animals and that the conditions our geese live in are humane. And of course, the cotton cover of our duvets is certified organic.
