Project Proposal Out with the Old & Innovate the New
who
Contest Designers: The target audience for the contest would be anyone who would be interested in innovating and redesigning the current concept of the bus shelter to be placed somewhere in downtown. Contest Voters: When it comes to voting we would leave it up to the users and residents to determine the winning design(s).
what
Our focus is on hosting a contest that redesigns the everyday bus stop shelter that so many of us are familiar with. The contest would ask people from Minnesota to put their design skills and creativity to the test to come up with unique and artistic shelters that tie in the culture of Minnesota/Minneapolis to be placed in the Downtown area. Amount of shelters and ultimate selection of design are budget conscious. Hosting this contest would bring a heightened engagement and improve the overall experience within the Downtown area as well as public transportation. Along with that, a contest would help people around the metro area become more aware of the Downtown Improvement District and would bring a positive and inviting presence to Downtown. This would get people involved with the Downtown area and add an abstract and inspiring touch that represents out Minneapolis culture so well.

The London Underground Map; The underground railway system uses a diagrammatic approach to mapping the hundreds of stops and lines instead of a geographically accurate map like the Metro Transit system use The diagrammatic approach allows for clarity and less congestion while portraying lines and stops for better ease of picking a route The map did and does portray future lines to keep the passengers up to day with the rapidly growing network of the underground There is a color coding system for each
If you are planning on making a connecting bus it keeps you posted on the timing of that next bus local transit system around the world if you ask it system, line, or rail you would like to use, and when you are planning on taking it The app physically asks how they can
How it could be desired route stops that wasn’t so cluttered and tiny. This would allow passengers to easily decipher letters and their different routes It would allow for a shared and uniform nature of mapping for both the Metro Transit Bus system and the Light Rail system for an easier user experience for the passengers
Utilized downtown It would allow people who are not familiar with the area their way around without looking touristy It would more functionally display the Metro Transit maps, schedules, and information to its passengers Encourage more people to use public transportation because the app is so functional and makes using the transit system a piece of cake could offer a scannable passenger pass option right allows for less fuss getting on the bus and speeds up the picking up process for the buses pocket map for the user to plan their route on the go
