Supportive Home for Transgender Students MFA Interior Design Thesis Transgender people are one of the most vulnerable populations in the world, even in comparison to the rest of the LGBTQ communit y. They are at a higher risk of harassment, abuse, and discrimination, especially because of their physical appearance and emotional vulnerabilit y. Their continuous rejection and stigmatization affect their mental, emotional, and psychological well-being. Often, due to these circumstances, refuge is found in their home. This project aims to understand the interior design factors that affect transgender student’s needs in a residential space.

Enhancing Biomimicry in Elementary Children Design for Sustainabilit y Final Project Research, interviews and observation findings suggests that public elementar y school children are not aware of the concepts of Sustainabilit y and Biomimicr y. Often, the only activities they successfully follow are just planting trees and recycling plastic in lunch rooms. This project focused on helping public elementar y school children learn and understand about Sustainabilit y and Biomimicr y in a simple and creative ways to help solve the issues they face in their classrooms. This will allow an active learning behavior where the classroom plays a model, measure and a mentor of learning.
