In the end, our house has been heated discussed since it was put on the internet. All of a sudden, our house became the social hot spots. When architecture meets modern media, it will become the data, the symbol, the key words that flows with waves of information. So just google our house on the internet !

The site is located in Chongqing University, next to an historical academic building, in this project, we have to expand the space of the old building. The big concept is to extend the body on the side of the old building to form the similar architecture feeling. As the facades continues, the new building grows naturally. The competition required the contestant to design a green building, so we have deal with the cultural atmosphere as well as tectonic solutions. My understanding about the green architecture is the conception of appropriate technology, then the material adoption and tectonic design accomplished.

Site and background: Remove Pollutant Yangtze River Jiangsu China

In March 2013, a grand number of dead pigs were discovered at the site of Pusongkou, where Yangtze river and Huangpu river joined together. In the past years, the wave of two rivers flowed into the sea with all kinds of pollutant that contaminate the shore of the city. In the workshop, we intended to solve the problem by building up a manmade structure. Since the west shore was mostly blocked area, we decided to extend the park on the east shore, which can both solve the problem and provide a positive space for the city.

Simulate the river wave: We used computation method to simulate the waves of the two rivers. After analyzing the curves, we put some attractors to influence the wave in order to form a whirlpool to collect pollutant, then, the attractors moved around to form a area which was the plan of our structure.

The task is to develop an urban design proposal for an inner-city re-development site, within the urban downtown centre of the city of Essen, Germany. The city of Essen, which is located in the south of the RuhrArea, has experienced tremendous changes in the last decades. The city currently takes active measures, in order to fight against urban decline and undertakes efforts to transform former industrial inner-city areas into high-quality urban mix-use areas. Focus here is on three main topics, which represents current method in sustainable urban development: Mobility, Community and Density. In this design, we developed an innovative approach:"The Layers of time" incorporating these broad topics. It is expected to explore new methods in three aspects, including time, scale and traffic, for a future-oriented inner-city life.

However,the Krupp family was not able to fit in the new world,and the oil crisis also added the fuel to the fire, then the Krupp industry became a corporation.

Not long after,Alfred Krupp went out the prison during the Cold war, the USA wanted the oringinal Killing machine to work on their side
The region growed with the Krupp family ,supplied thousands of killing machines and also the energy source of the nation.
The Ruhr-Region
The 3rd Generation of the Krupp family whose name was also Alfred joined the Nazi party in the World War 2, its product-Dora Gun helped Hitler a lot.

Due to the economic crisis,the weimar republic didn’t last long. Hitler and his Nazi party bacame the new leader of Germany.

Wilhelm ii was one of starters of World War 1 and the Krupp family was the weapon generator, the Pari gun was born.
Deutscher Werkbund was established and it had great influences on the architecture world, and Essen too, of course.

Marx and Alfred Krupp were born at this period of time, one’s book and the other’s power would change the district later on.
Before 1800,the Essen area was nothing but farm field before the first Krupp settled in and change the district forever

Site Analysis
Located in the south of Ruhr Metropolitan, an important European region, Essen is the 9th largest city in Germany with a population of 570k. The site is in the "Krupp-Belt"-the coal industrial region belonged to the Krupp family and now is waste land waiting to be changed into new use.
