Bella Gets a New Dental Machine!

Our six-year-old orangutan Bella needed our help and with the support of our community, we answered her call! When she was three years old, at her previous zoo, Bella got stuck between the bars of her enclosure and suffered a compound jaw fracture. Since then, she’s needed nine dental procedures and has been trained for voluntary dental x-rays.

Through generous donations from our community of supporters, we have been able to purchase a much-needed dental x-ray machine and will be able to monitor Bella for years to come! This machine can also be used to help all of Bella’s beloved animal friends at Zoo Miami. Zoo Miami Foundation and our extraordinary veterinary team at Zoo Miami are incredibly grateful to all of those who helped make this purchase possible.
