AMIR JOHN HADDAD "FROM EAST TO WEST" Amir-John Haddad is a multi-instrumentalist who offers us a unique concert under an innovative concept. It is a concert where Amir leads the audience through a variety of different musical styles exposing his large musical influences. We owe the artist's concept to his cultural heritage. His Colombian mother and Palestinian father gave him his initial cultural knowledge and the fact that he was born and raised in Germany opened up his mind to the western culture. All the different music styles which he experienced at home and all the countries that he's travelled to since childhood come together in one language to deliver a very large musical vision and concept. His further musical interest has led him to play different music styles such as Flamenco, Funk, Oriental, Rock, World music, Fusion, Folk, etc… and form many own projects like: Zoobazar, Members of Parliament, From East to West and "El Amir" Flamenco Sextet. In this concert Amir has given himself the pleasure to bring together almost all the instruments he plays on one stage. Arabic electric oud, Turkish saz, Greek bouzuki, flamenco guitar, triple neck electric guitar come together on stage to blend traditional art with modern sounds. While listening to his music you will perceive many emotions, sounds, atmospheres that are shaped wisely and carefully into musical landscapes. “From East to West” will take us on a journey through different musical landscapes that emerge out of the Mediterranean culture and music. In a very natural and progressive way Amir will make us understand the universal language of music. He inspires himself in the geographical and cultural evolution from east to west and will be changing instruments in each composition to reflect the different Mediterranean areas with his music. The show “From East to West” had its debut at the Mercat de Musica Viva de Vic 2010 and is recommended by theSpanish Theater Network called REDESCENA. Since then he has performed at the MIDEA Festival Tenerife (Canary Islands), Murcia Tres Culturas Festival, Festival Salihara and Teatro Gedung Kesenian (Yakarta), and at Guitar Fest Málaga 2014. The show "From East to west" was selected to tour internationally in 2013 with AECID (Spanish Agency of Cooperation & Developement).

PEPE JUSTICIA & EL AMIR
“2 GUITARRAS”
“2 Guitars” is the new show of two exceptional flamenco guitarists, Pepe Justicia and El Amir. They belong to Spain’s first row of flamenco concert guitarists. Both have shown an impeccable career until now and have performed with the most recognized artists of our times. Their list of collaborations is countless as well as their tours and performances around the world. “2 Guitars” allows two generations of “tocaores flamencos” (flamenco guitar players) to come together and meet. They are two different concepts and ways to understand the “toque” (playing the instrument) without losing the strong connection to roots and traditions. Pepe Justicia is a very creative guitarist and has a wide knowledge in music. El Amir was his disciple in Jerez de la Frontera when he came to Spain. We can say that El Amir is the only heir to the art of Pepe Justicia’s flamenco playing. From there he has achieved to develop (not “developed”) his own sound and brand. Both have a great artistic and technical level reaching the “virtuoso” level in every sense. In this new show they expose their great wisdom, creativity and mastery on the guitar by performing own original compositions in solo or duo format. “2 Guitars” are two twin souls born in different decades who share the same passion for flamenco and music in general. Their compositions reflect the sounds and aesthetics of flamenco from the sixties until today. It is a wide range of flamenco music that allows us to appreciate the evolution of the flamenco guitar from back in the days until now and how it developed in time.

PEPE JUSTICIA José Moreno Justicia, "Pepe Justicia" was born in the province of Jaén. At the early age of twelve he picked up the guitar and started playing autodidactic. At age fifteen he started performing with local flamenco artists in “peñas” (flamenco clubs) and festivals all over Andalusia. With nineteen years he moved to Madrid and started his solid career.
Pepe Justicia has lived the mythic decade of Madrid’s “flamenco guitar” in the eighties and has absorbed all that energy from a whole generation post Paco de Lucia. All were young and good guitarists and artists from Andalusia (Cadiz, Seville, Jaen, Granada…). They used to meet in places like “Yesterday” or “Candela” to play guitar all night long being able to meet elder and outstanding artists like Enrique Morente, David Serva, Pepe Habichuela and others. Soon these spots became the main meeting points for the flamenco artists in Madrid and for a long while it even became the centre of flamenco guitar in the world. Among the guitarists who were living that period we can name quite outstanding names of nowadays flamenco guitarists such as: Pepe (Moreno) Justicia, Gerardo Nuñez, Agustín el Bola, Ramón Jiménez, Paco Cruz, Antonio Moreno, Felipe Maya, El Entri, Lorenzo de Madrid and later on Rafael Riqueni o el Viejín; they have been the fortunate ones. Pepe Justicia has had a very solid and impeccable professional career. In 1979 he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to become a concert guitarist and since then he has toured all over the world both as a featuring artist and as a solo performing artist with his own groups. In 1984 he returned to Andalusia, Granada and later on he moved permanently to Jerez de la Frontera. There he connected with the roots and kept touring and performing solo concerts with his band featuring great artists from Jerez. Pepe Justicia has been accompanying the best singers and dancers from Jerez since then. He has recorded eight of his own albums with his own compositions and has collaborated in many recordings reaching from classical music over to jazz and pop. He has performed in Madrid at celebrated venues like Florida Park, Los Canasteros, Centro Cultural de la Villa de Madrid as well as all over Andalusia and Spain. He has toured in countries like Germany, UK, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Portugal, Andorra, Italy, Yugoslavia, Check Republic, Switzerland, Mexico, USA, Venezuela, Caribbean Countries and Islands, Monte Carlo, Morocco, Dubai, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania… In addition to flamenco, Pepe Justicia has also collaborated with many great artists of many different genres such as: Chocolate, Enrique Morente, Rancapino, Turronero, Chano Lobato, El Capullo de Jerez, Perro de Paterna, Curro de Utrera, Gabriel Moreno, La Tati, Mariquilla, Carmen Cortés, Joaquín Grilo, Felipe Campuzano, Gerardo Núñez, Manolo Sanlúcar, Nina Corti… His creative and musical activities reach from performing and recording with jazz musicians like Henry Vincent, Chano Dominguez, Tito Alcedo o J.A. Galicia to folk, pop or classical artists. Pepe Justicia collaborates with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Baden-Baden and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Essen, interpreting the Concierto de Aranjuez as well as theatrical setups. He has won many prizes along his career: • First prize International Guitar Contest (Jerez de la Frontera 1.987) ZOOMUSIC MANAGEMENT - Elisabeth Vázquez - www.zoomusicmanagement.com Tel: +34 639 115 696, Camino del Rey 7, 28270 Colmenarejo, Madrid elisabeth@zoomusicmanagement.com

Right now he is still performing with Pepe Justicia Quinteto and preparing a new album. Since 2007 he has combined his activity with his work at the Superior Conservatory of Dance in Malaga as a mentor, maestro and teacher.
AMIR JOHN HADDAD “EL AMIR” Amir-John Haddad was born in Freiburg Germany in 1975 and comes from a Colombian and Palestinian background. He was raised and educated in Germany and lived for a short while in Bogotá (Colombia). Since childhood he hasn’t stopped travelling and has been always in contact with music. His family environment taught him how to play music by ear. He learned music, his future language, by oral transmission and was only 7 years old when he officially started studying the Flamenco guitar after learning Arabic oud at home by the hand of his father and first teacher Rimon Haddad.
Amir started playing live at school venues when he was 7 years old and by the age of 12 he gave his first public concert on a “real” stage. At a very early age Amir was led to diverse music styles from South American folklore to classical music, classical Arabic and Oriental music over to African music, Flamenco music… as well as to western influences like Jazz, Rock, Funk, Pop, Metal, Fusion, etc. “When I was seven years old our TV stopped working and my parents didn’t replace it, so from that moment on I was raised without a TV at home and that was very important to my playing and to my innocent and creative approach to music!” Years later in 1997 Amir decided to move further south to live and study guitar in one of the most important birthplaces of Flamenco, Jerez de la Frontera (Andalucía-Spain). As he says: “I left Germany with my guitar and a suitcase full of illusions & expectations! I wanted to learn this art form in a traditional way by oral transmission in the streets meeting the artists and make my experiences through living with the people and share many moments of “juerga” (Flamenco jam all night long)!” During his period in Andalucía he was a disciple of famous guitar maestros like Pepe Justicia and Enrique de Melchor. This experience has been very important for his career. In 1998 Amir moved on to Madrid to find new frontiers and keep on growing professionally as a musician and find a place in the music scene, “I wanted to make a living out of what I liked the most! I couldn’t imagine myself in the future without playing my instrument!” He played in famous Flamenco Tablaos such as Las Carboneras, Café de Chinitas, Corral de la Pacheca, Casa Patas etc. It was in Madrid when Amir was invited to join and play with the legendary and famous Spanish World Music Band Radio Tarifa. Amir was the official oud, bouzouki and guitar player for ZOOMUSIC MANAGEMENT - Elisabeth Vázquez - www.zoomusicmanagement.com Tel: +34 639 115 696, Camino del Rey 7, 28270 Colmenarejo, Madrid elisabeth@zoomusicmanagement.com

In 2006 he released his first solo album “Pasando por Tabernas” on German record label Double Moon Records Köln with eight original Flamenco tunes playing Arabic oud and flamenco guitar and in 2013 his second flamenco guitar album called “9 Guitarras” - a work full of sensitivity and maturity produced by Mundo Flamenco and Amir John Haddad which received a lot of good critics from medias and the public in general. He has successfully recorded the debut album "UNO" of a great Mediterranean world music fusion quartet Zoobazar with the renowned producer Carlos Raya; Amir is also the co-founder of that group. In 2014 he also released the second Zoobazar's album "DOS" reaching a place in favourites list of World Music Charts Europe. In 2014 Zoobazar played, representing Spain, at Euroradio Folk Music Festival, Sweden and they gave their showcase at WOMEX 2014. He was also the musical director of the show SOULFOOT and toured in Germany, Austria and South Africa in 2011 and 2014. Amir applies his musical and cultural heritage in order to achieve a new sound whether it’s Flamenco, Rock, Oriental, Fusion or any other type of music he tries to approach. He does it without losing the strong character and emotional sense of each music style. His further interest in music has led him to play many other instruments besides the flamenco guitar like: Bouzouki, Turkish saz, mandola, banjo, electric oud, electric guitar and bass. Amir-John Haddad is an original composer and a musician with an extraordinary sensitivity as well as a virtuoso performer who knows how to combine his musical legacy with the musical influences of the present. www.amirjohnhaddad.com

ZOOBAZAR & CARMEN PARÍS In this project two fine artists have blend their knowledge of Iberian and Mediterranean music to experience a new fusion and find a new musical concept by combining the magical voice of Carmen Paris and the mesmerizing sound of Zoobazar. They chose a selection of nice songs of their albums and have rearranged them in order to achieve this fresh fusion and combination of sounds and styles. It is the best opportunity to see two of Spain’s most important Folk artists performing on stage as if they had belonged together forever.

2014. In 2014 they also reached the 55th position in the list WORLD MUSIC CHARTS EUROPE (top 250 of 824 records) and a great success with their showcase-concert at WOMEX 2014.
CARMEN PARÍS
www.carmenparis.net
Carmen París is one of Spain’s most creative and unique songwriters and singers. She already has had a 30 years career and she’s known for her fusion between Iberian Folk and World Music as well as Jazz. On her first three albums released with Warner Music she shows her musical talent and amazing voice. Though born in Tarragona, Carmen París grew up in Utebo, a place close to Zaragoza. In her music she combines the traditional Aragonese music Jota, the Flamenco, Andalusian music, jazz, and other forms of music. Her first album “Pa’ mi genio” sold 40000 copies and received brilliant reviews, but she was labeled as being “just” a musician of Jota. With her second album, she clearly stated: “That’ll be it for Jotera”. Carmen París does not consider herself solely a Jota musician, but a drunkard of musical styles, even though her work always starts from some torn-out Aragonese roots. She has participated in a number of compilations, among them homages to Joaquín Sabina or Pablo Neruda. In November 2014 she has been awarded with the prize “National Award for Contemporary Music” (Premio Nacional de las Músicas Actuales, Spain) highlighting her exceptional voice, captivating personality and her ability to regenerate the traditional lyrical music and raise the “jota” to an international level.

BUFA & SONS
"TUBES OF THE WORLD"
Three very experienced musicians with a great record in their careers get together to give us a "Didactic-Workshop-Concert" disguised with humour that will appeal to everyone and all ages. Bufa & Sons gives us the opportunity to observe our environment with different eyes and ears. Recycled objects of our daily use which we never thought capable of giving out a musical sound are used to present us an unique concert where we are shown that music and sound is hidden where we want it to be. A broom, a crutch, a stepladder, watering-can, a chair, a brick or even a single macaroon or olive it seems be the perfect medium to let all the melodies out that are hidden inside of these objects. Bufa & Sons plays blues, jazz and some known songs getting instrumental real sounds as the bansuri flute, sax, gralla, bag pipe, etc… The band members come from playing with prestigious bands and artists like Eliseo Parra, Kepa Junquera, Misirli Ahmed, La Shica…. Xavi Lozano has been the host of the children's TV show "L'atrapasons" in the Catalan Channel TV3 where he taught how to play any object where you could make a hole. As well he has been invited many times to the famous Spanish TV show "EL Hormiguero" and "Buenafuente" to demonstrate his personal and original abilities of playing innovative and surprising instruments made by himself. Bufa & Sons first show was called "Flutes of the World" and was presented in different school, cultural centres and other events with great success! Their new show "Tubes of the World" was created as a natural consequence from their first show. It had great acceptance at the prestigious Festival Pirineos Sur 2011.

WORKSHOPS In the workshops of BUFA & SONS we can take a closer look at the instruments, make inquiries about them and ask the musicians questions in a more didactic athmosphere than the concert itself. We offer three different workshops.
CONSTRUCTION Xavi Lozano teaches us about wind instruments built by chance. Everyday objects are transformed into flutes or other wind instruments with some modifications (and sometimes without any modification). These objects are among others a brick, a folding chair, a broom with extensible handle, a watering can, a bicycle handlebar, a crutch, a fence, an aluminum ladder ... Learn how to make a whistle with a macaroon or how to build a clarinet with a plastic tube that is used to make irrigation facilities. Each participant in the workshop can build an instrument "in situ" depending on the number of participants. (To be consulted for more details.)
RHYTHMS Marc Vila and Guillem Aguilar teach us their particular rhythmic vision drums-percussion // bass guitar-mandoline-"motxelo"-"cigar box lap steel guitar" We will speak about the traditional percussion of the Iberian Peninsula, how to play a pan, tambourines, "tejoletas", rectangular tambourines, kalimbas ... Also about the use and application of these instruments and their associated rhythms in a broader context besides their pure traditional character. All this sustained and supported by the harmony and groove of the bass guitar as well as other string instruments and of course our particular bassist. Participants can bring their own percussion instrument and practice the rhythms of the workshop.
BEAT BOX Dani Lleonart " El Pulmón" and the rhythms of the "beat box" Dani Lleonart "El Pulmón" is a recognized beat-boxer able to produce all kinds of rhythms and sounds with his mouth. A human drum! We will learn the basics of this urban rhythmic art born and shaped in the streets. How to articulate sounds similar to a drum and gradually setting up and developing your own rhythmic hip-hop patterns. Learn how to play the cheapest and lightest drums in the world only with your mouth!
