Urban hub
The core of NEW URBAN NETWORK
Nowadays, The population is continuously decerasing and is it really a right way to build 'Layered fllor building'? I suggest the urban image connecting each building different from standalone. I try to insert buildings which become the core of NEW URBAN NETWORK.

Vision
Mid or high building standing alone
Problem
Urban scale
Proposal site, mid or high building between Aoyama street and residential area has two different faces.
Generally, mid or high buildings are standing alone
However, we don't feel their tie up in this site.

Design
Express Aoyama with two lines of flow residential scale(residential side)
structure)Give a meaning to vertical line of flow,
urban scale(Aoyama street side)
structure)Emphasising the boundary of "move and stay"
mixture of "move and stay" in ambiguous way. space experience)Various rooms-not successive,
Due to the aging society and COVID-19, I predict utilization rate of urban buidings goes down.
space experience)Like successive one story with various rooms.
By inserting NEW URBAN NETWORK, we connect adjacent buildings with parks and bring activity.

Proposal
Extend the public ground level with a "double helix "
I found out how to do it before gym!
After checking in at the hotel.
Like a flagpole land?
Reading in the sun ♫
View the city with a depression angle of 10° or less.
Bring activity by adjacent to the park and event space.
Look down the city with a depression angle of 10° or more. The standing party outside is special!
Aoyama has such a history!
This stairs serve as a chair! I can listen to by also wheelchair!
Many used books!
This spiral stairs is so cool! I walked long way!
Read a book until the meeting. Convinient to access from the bridge!
Hello!
The flloor is just desk! Pull in the flow with a sense of depth
I can see the green and calmdown.
Please take α seat over there!
Let's lunch break!
Hurry up! Let's try to the outfit of the borrowed magazine!
Looking down the Aoyama street.
Extend the public graound level vertically with a double helix composed with
residential scale internal flow (which I made not to make us feel vertical flow by giving meaning to stairs) and urban scale external flow (which expect us connectabillity to the surrounding, and I made it like spiral stairs.)

Adjusted to regional characteristics, I make up double helix. As a result, urban can be extended to the upper floors. Buildings wearing regional characteristics expect us connectability to the sourroundings.

I improve the QOL by planning the library (the first place for collecting information) to the site which would be NEW URBAN NETWORK nodes.
Smooth switch between the two different scales Construct architecture from sequence like one story
Draw us into the flow and try to scale down from urban scale
scenes examples) when suddenly, small room switch to large room, another rooms come
scenes examples) Facade express the sense of depth, internal rooms are seen off & on
into our eyes through the gap of rooms, and go outside out of blue.
using gaps of boxes, and approches like flagpole land
space experience) By walking in one tube like one story,

Make the floor level differently in order to be seen off & on through the gap of slab. Boosting our expectations to the upper floor and room become continuous.
Facade with sense of depth draws us into the flow like flagpole land. It expects us connectability and try to scale down from urban scale.
I put book shelves and desks, suitable for square openings. Emphasize the sense of depth to the sourroundings with about 700mm opening thickness.

Open Shelves
Open Shelves I put eye catching spiral stairs and open ceilings where it has big floor level differences. It expects us that room continues to the upper floors and extends the sequence.
We use stairs as chairs, we read books and can also listen to the lectures. Stairs can be recognized not just vertical flow but also whereabouts.

I make slab serve as a desk with 650mm level difference.
Stairs function as chairs, openings and book shelves. Vertical flow have more than two meanings and move to the upper floor become continuous.
Level difference becomes closer to our bodies and the room becomes continuous.

How to build the core of NEW URBAN NETWORK
I express the sense of depth by square openings and gaps of boxes. This architecture express the core of urban to the sourroundings.
Connection with the adjacent buildings. Bringing the activity to the upper floor.
The external flow rolls up through the terrace. Connect smoothly when the sourroundings are connected.
Draw in the flow from bridge by void. This architecture express the core of urban to the sourroundings.
I make porous space by gaps of boxes. Stand as an environmental device to the sourroundings buildings.
Draw in the flow with approches like flagpole land. Try to scale down from urban scale by exploration. − 08 −
