Individualized Learning Program
Serving ZIS students Kindergarten to Grade 8 The Individualized Learning Program or ILP (formerly called the Differentiated Learning Program or DLP) serves a small group of students who benefit from specialized teaching, a differentiated day or schedule, mainstreaming and small group scenarios. The students participate in their grade level classes and also benefit from Speech/Language and Occupational Therapy if their needs demand.
ZIS believes that Inclusion benefits all. We work carefully with parents when accepting new students to ensure that we are able to provide the best possible educational and social opportunity for our ILP students.
We offer two programs: a Kindergarten to Grade 5 program at our Lower School, Wadenswil Campus, and a Kindergarten to Grade 8 program at our Lower and Middle School, Baden Campus.

The curriculum mirrors the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), used in our Lower School, and the ZIS Middle School Curriculum. Literacy and numeracy skills are taught at the level of each student allowing for much enrichment and extension for very academically capable students. An Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is developed for each student with clearly established goals, outcomes, assessments and accommodations. The classroom and specialist teachers and the dedicated Learning Support Team work closely together in co-teaching scenarios to support the ILP students and the rest of our students in both the mainstream and the ILP classroom. The ratio of specialized teacher/assistant to student in the ILP is 1:2 allowing for specific programming that meets the individual needs of each student.
