ozed is committed to providing maximum eye protection. thanks to ozed dual technology™, we are pleased to give you a new vision of the world! your vision is constantly exposed to numerous reflections that distort your perception. due to its structure, your eye assimilates some types of light rays less efficiently than others. horizontal polarised rays are the most disruptive and dazzling. high-reflection areas – such as glazed surfaces, snow, water or sand – tend to alter the sun’s rays. when reflected, the rays leave the surface deformed (change in wave phase, direction, etc.), thus distorting the base signal and causing them to pollute your vision. our ozed dual technology™ polarized lenses are created from two superimposed linear polarizing filters with vertical components. these filters consist of crystals orientated by electromagnetic treatment. they enable optimum selection of nondeformed waves, eliminating any disruptive signals (dephased reflected waves, etc.). ozed dual technology™ lenses thus eliminate any disruptive or dazzling waves for the retina, recovering the optimum signals that facilitate image processing by the eye. in this manner, the lenses offer enhanced perception of depth and more authentic colour brilliance, while improving contrast sharpness. you have a clearer vision and your eyes are protected against fatigue, thus providing optimum comfort, even in high-reflection areas.

in the spirit of conserving biodiversity and renewing natural resources, all millworks used for the manufacture of our sunglasses are certified ecofriendly. the wood comes from authorised and controlled forests that avoid large-scale chopping and promote the preservation of flora and fauna. our choice of wood is part of the fight against deforestation and the survival of our beautiful planet.

balance ozed is conscious of its own impact on the environment, and especially its carbon dioxide emissions. to that end, all emissions from the manufacture, transport and distribution of our sunglasses are offset through our partnership with the pur project. the amount of co2 emitted from each of our events, products and even from our own lifestyles are recorded, quantified and compensated accordingly.

designed by the rock-electro band the shoes this “crack my bones” model is clearly inspired by the rock attitude of the 60’. a mix of metal and acetate wtih a vintage shape, thoses sunglasses bring you right back in the past. close your eyes, feel the smell of the smoke, the noise of the drums and guitares, whisky glasses clinking together, and there you are ! ready for the trip ?

«we loved being a part of this collaboration with ozed. they asked us to create, design and develop our own set of shades. although it was unknown ground for us, the idea and the project seduced us. we wanted to create a low- key, elegant and chic pair of glasses. this is reflected in the «the shoes» logo delicately engraved on the arms. we took inspiration from all our own glasses that we’ve had for years, taking the best bits from each pair. but our main source of inspiration was an unknown pair from the 70’s. the type of shade that you’d have found ray manzarek or phil spector wearing. the «crack my bones» series is born.» guillaume briere & benjamin lebeau the shoes

I have always worked with various media, canvas, walls, recycled skateboards, wood. So naturally I was seduced by the idea of using glasses as a new Medium. You can even draw a parallel between art and seeing a new incarnation on the way we see things. worked on one of my big classics, the ‘All Over’ with foot motifs and hands that characterize me!

“this is the start of my new adventure with ozed. i’m happy to be part of the family and to have helped create the first ladies model. ozed has been able to take my inspiration, which i’ve drawn on from the ocean and my many travels. i had a clear vision of what i wanted for this model. by using rosewood, one of the most noble materials, i was able to capture a great style, lines and femininity and all sublimed by ethnic motifs designed by myself . and what amazing results! the ‘lady mermaid’ is born.”

what better way to launch our female range of sunglasses than to ask coline menard, our longboarder, who just so happens to be an optician too, to develop the first model. and the result? sublime curves have been given a feminine, chic and stylish finish with hand drawn ethnic motifs. unique colour ways provided by the choice of material, rosewood. the most noble of all materials.

shred it By with the ‘peace fingers’ on each arm, with style, detail, yet understated but with character, this can only be the model from victor de le rue. staying true to his character, the ‘shred it’ is highly original and stylish. the sumer edition has been created with a brown bamboo and embellished with smoky polarized lenses. let’s shred it this summer!

i was given carte blanche with creating the model, i wanted something with character, well defined angles, dark lenses, something that rocks, but classy too. i added a touch of metal to further customize the model, to emphasize the detail and to make it truly unique and original. i opted for solid wood: brown colored bamboo, with a vintage finish created by lightly sanding the edges to give more of a worn look. and voila, the shred was born! with two versions available, i’ll have a pair perfect for the winter season in the powder and an ideal pair for the beach! victor.

tereva’s vision for his model was to show the beauty of his island. Tupuna, meaning ancestor in Tahitien, is an ode to this pearl in the Pacific Ocean. Decorated with Tahitian motifs designed by his tattoo artist, it narrates the sorties of his forefathers. ‘A ora I te faahee’ translated as ‘live through surfing’ is engraved on the interior of the case and sums up perfectly the spirit of these island lovers of nature and what it has to offer.

this model was developed in conjunction with the surfer edouard delpero. a ‘wave lover’ and ‘wood lover’ the ‘wover’ represents edouard’s personality and spirit. he is a lover with a capital l, who knows how to make the most of each moment. this is an elegant and original model which balances black matte acetate with birch arms.

ozed has successfully reproduced what i had in mind. to create glasses that look like me; that draw you closer to me. the idea was to bring together different materials to create a pair of glasses that are sophisticated and understated. starting with its strength, the use of wood and pairing it with acetate, a more well known material allows the wearer. the name that i decided on, has turned out well, the wover, a name associated with terms surrounding wood and love. edouard.
