As Zeal Ambassadors we lead adventurous lives that take us around the world riding, racing, and advocating for the environment. Zeal has been supporting my journey, as well as many others’ adventures, so when I was asked to join the Zeal family in Moab, Utah for a road trip, I was keen to join them. We explored canyons, found a waterfall and I mountain biked while Madison Ellsworth skated a red-rock sunrise. Another highlight was biking Slickrock at sunset with the crew hooting and hollering. It was such a blast laughing together, collaborating from dusk ‘til dawn, and sharing our journeys with each other.

Whether we were hiking, climbing, exploring, tubing or just driving through the splendor of Southern Colorado, the views were stunning everywhere you looked! What really makes a road trip is the people you’re with, and since I’ve been a part of the Zeal family, I haven’t met anyone I didn’t like. It’s so cool—you don’t know anyone going in but instantly make friends because we all have that one thing in common: our love for the outdoors. Zeal partners with High Fives to get injured athletes back on snow and push their abilities through winter sports. THE LATITUDE PROJECT Motivated by a lifetime of travel, the founders of The Latitude Project work to create stronger communities by providing service project opportunities in some of the world’s most premier surf destinations located in disadvantaged countries. Zeal provides sunglasses for these communities that experience high rates of pterygium caused by their coastal settings. MORE THAN JUST ME Working tirelessly to raise awareness for the fight against cystic fibrosis, More Than Just Me focuses on finding inspiration through personal accomplishment. Zeal supports this important mission through product donations and financial and event support. NATIONAL FOREST FOUNDATION The National Forest Foundation promotes the

enhancement and public enjoyment of the 193-million-acred National Forest Service. PROJECT 5480 Over the past decade, pine beetles have killed more than 70% of Colorado’s forests, completely altering ecosystems and causing severe fire risks. Zeal works to rebuild our wilderness by planting 5,480 trees annually, a number based on the elevation of our headquarters in Boulder, Colorado. PROTECT OUR WINTERS (POW) POW’s mission is to mobilize the winter sports community to lead the fight against climate change; focusing on education initiatives, advocacy, and supporting community-based projects. SOS OUTREACH SOS Outreach was founded in 1993 in the Vail Valley of Colorado. This program provides risk prevention, outdoor recreation, and environmental education to Colorado’s youth. The castor plant is a fast-growing perennial that is easy to plant, withstands drought, and thrives on marginal lands.

We process the castor beans into our proprietary Z-Resin material which replaces petroleum-based plastics in our sunglasses. By replacing traditional plastics with Z-Resin, we significantly reduce the amount of CO2 produced during our manufacturing process.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we produce all prescription lenses in our zero-waste lab. We recycle all fluids used in the process. Excess lens material and warrantied lenses and frames are recycled domestically and turned into raw materials for the manufacture of other products, nearly 200,000 pounds per year.
