The use of special covering foams optimizes the exchange of air inside the goggles . This air circulation dissipates moisture which prevents the lens from fogging.

The lens that is outwardly curved provides better all-around vision and enlarges the goggles’ interior volume, which optimizes ventilation.

Small flexible plastic ties in the forehead and cheek area of the goggle frame plus a more flexible nose construction allow the snow goggles to adapt ergonomicaly perfect to the wearer’s individual facial shape particularly well – for superior comfort without pressure points!

This is the name for the outer shell of all ALPINA helmets that use INMOLD technology. This thin and light material is extremely break- and scratch-resistant, UV-stabile and antistatic.

EA combination of an impact-resistant outer shell (ABS or polycarbonate) plus a shock-absorbing and cold-insulating inner shell (EPS) guarantees a maximum of safety.

Neck warmer that is pulled down low on the back of the helmet and made of comfortable, soft micro-fleece.

Openings on the sides and bottom of the goggle frame allow air to flow into the goggles’ interior to prevent fogging of the lens. The air flow is indirect so that no draft can reach the eyes.

Magnetic Lens snow goggles by ALPINA provide clear vision in sunshine and fog: The snow goggles have two lenses with different tinting. The dark fair-weather lens is attached to the brightening lens where it will firmly stay in place. In bad weather, this extra lens can be quickly detached in a single move.

Vents in the lens ensure a defined routing of the air flow and back ventilation of the goggle lens. This effectively prevents fogging.

GOGGLES

hinge band The goggle is strap is attached to flexible hooks on the outside of the frame. These hooks provide even better fit especially when the goggles are worn with a ski helmet.

180+ view For some models, it was possible to design the goggle frame in combination with a large panoramic lens to provide all-around vision above the 180 degrees required by the CE standard. Due to this enlarged field of vision potential hazards on the slope can be perceived earlier at the sides.

OVER THE GLASSES Goggles with recesses in the frame and sufficient interior volume that allow normal correction glasses to be worn under the goggles.

PROTECTORS

96

In the production process for INMOLD helmets the inner shell is foam-injected underneath the outer shell under high heat. Thanks to the complete fusion of the upper and lower shells INMOLD helmets are extremely stable and very light. In addition, they offer clearly more safety than spot-glued helmets.

monocoque

Prepared for use of a multimedia head-up display by Canadian infotainment specialist RECON.

A polyamide lattice framework integrated with the helmet structure provides extreme stiffening of the helmet. In the case of a crash – even when loads are concentrated in specific places, as may be the case when a ski whirling around in the air hits the helmet – the impact forces are evenly distributed to the entire helmet structure, thus using the protective potential of the entire IN-MOLD helmet shell.

All ALPINA helmets are fitted with the ERGOMATIC strap buckle. The anti-torsion multi-step locking mechanism can be operated with a single hand and cannot come open in a crash.

The changeable interior lining can be removed, hand-washed in tepid soap water and simply be inserted again.

The head band at the back of the head is height-adjustable in five steps for enhanced fit of the helmet.

More fun on the safe side: Winter Collection 2013/2014 33 years of powerful innovation made in Germany: ALPINA ski helmets and snow goggles for the 2013/2014 winter season combine tradition and modernity as never before. For more fun in the snow than ever – and certainly on the safe side! 1980 was a memorable year: Germany became European Soccer Champion, the ‘Tin Drum’ won the Academy Award, daylight savings time was introduced again and ALPINA was founded. Its vision: to make the best possible helmets, snow goggles and sports glasses. Made in Germany, or more precisely put: devised in Derching near Augsburg, produced in Germany. This secured two things: local jobs and top quality. Now, 33 years later, this vision continues more vividly than ever. ALPINA, today, is a living harmony of tradition and innovation. Take the RUN SYSTEM for example: When ALPINA invented the control knob at the back of the helmet in 1996 this adjustment mechanism revolutionized the helmet industry. 17 years later, millions of skiers and bikers adjust their helmets using the ALPINA-typical quick rotary movement. Under the motto ‘Making a Good Thing Better’ ALPINA is presenting RUN SYSTEM ERGO SNOW for the new winter season – the evolution of the revolution goes on and the control knob is getting even better. Revolutionary as well are the new ski helmets such as SNOW MYTHOS – a helmet that combines every one of ALPINA’s areas of expertise and impresses with its light weight – to name just one example. In winter 2013/2014, ALPINA again has this single vision in mind: to make the best possible ski helmets and snow goggles.

3

A blaze of color ALPINA-style: Every pair of snow goggles is hand-made as a prototype in various colors. Top Management, Product Management and Sales then decide which designs will be produced.

Germany, a developing country

From the two-dimensional sketch the prototyping department creates a mockup, which is then digitalized and fully designed in CAD for production. 4

An initial mockup is modeled from resin based on the designs. This model is subsequently used to create true-to-scale 3D data.

Made in Germany. ALPINA ski helmets are devised, developed and produced in Germany. In our development department in Derching near Augsburg, the first prototypes are crafted from new ideas. Every new ALPINA helmet – both ski and bike helmets – takes its initial shape on a blank piece of paper. Product Management, in collaboration with athletes and partners, selects the most promising one from the various hand-drawn sketches and passes on any suggested changes. Short channels in the development department are crucial to allowing specific modifications to be made in a short period of time. Three to four months after the initial idea, a laser scans thousands of dots from the surface of the cast resin helmet. This cloud of dots then becomes a three-dimensional model on the CAD computer. The development engineers keep turning and rotating this model by mouse click, virtually enlarging, reducing or shifting vents, for example. Once the newly created helmet has assumed its final form the graphics designer adds color, company logos and decoration in the final step. Colors, designs, graphics: New ski helmets and snow goggles only receive their ultimate looks in the final step. Everything happens in-house, from the initial idea through to the finished product.

Thermoformed upper helmet shell: A polycarbonate plate is drawn across the helmet mold, cools down and thus receives its shape.

Now a robot, with utmost precision, mills all the openings into the helmet shell – for instance, for vents and straps.

Made in Germany. At ALPINA, the ski helmets are not only developed in Germany but prototyping and volume production take place here as well. Testing and certification are done in Germany too – at TUV Rheinland. The finished cast resin model helmet provides the basis for pre-production samples and subsequent regular production. The CAD data of the new production-ready helmet are transmitted to the production managers at our own plants in Germany. There, the molds and tools for the complex compression-molding process are made in the first step. After initial test runs, the process is fine-tuned until an optimum result is achieved. Now, extensive tests are run on ALPINA’s own test bench. All ALPINA helmets are awarded their test seals according to the relevant EN 1077 standard by TUV Rheinland. Series production starts as soon as the certificate has been issued, naturally ‘made in Germany’ again. Two years pass between the initial idea and the helmet’s appearance at the point of sale. By comparison, series production takes place in a flash: 10 minutes per helmet.

GERMAN PRODUCTION The finished – albeit bare – ski helmet has to prove that it holds up to the stringent test requirements of the EN 1077 standard on ALPINA’s own test bench.

In-molding: The upper helmet shell is in the oven at left while the negative mold is already waiting on the right-hand side. The shell and the EPS granulate are fused under high heat and pressure.

Grand finale! In final production, each helmet receives its strap bands, interior and stickers. Not just anywhere in the world, but right here in Germany.

Get on the test bench! After extensive in-house impact, pull-off and tensile tests, the new ski helmet has to pass its exam at TUV Rheinland to receive EN-1077 certification.

All ALPINA helmets are tested and certified by TUV Rheinland.

ALPINA’s development engineers have been wracking their brains day by day for 33 years, thinking about how your head can remain as intact as possible while skiing. Hundreds of thousands of skiers are wearing the results of all this brain-wracking on their heads each winter. For 33 years, ALPINA has been operating at the forefront of safety technology. ALPINA was among the first manufacturers to opt for INMOLD technology for ski helmets and has continued to develop the proven systems further and further. The best example: CHEOS. The bottom part of the first HYBRID helmet consists of INMOLD, the upper part of Hardshell. Or take SUPERCYBRIC: Similar to a Formula 1 car, its helmet structure is extremely stiffened by an integrated monocoque chassis – for even better accident protection. These are just two of countless examples that show that at ALPINA, we’ve only got one thing in mind: your safety!

HYBRID Its HYBRID technology combines the advantages of INMOLD and Hardshell. The bottom part of CHEOS consists of a light-weight INMOLD shell that provides good shock absorption, whereas a super-robust Hardshell covers impact-absorbing HI-EPS material in the upper part of the helmet. Another advantage: The Hardshell upper shell of the HYBRID construction allows for an extra amount of room to be used for vent holes and channels. Thanks to the large number of vents and channels CHEOS, in addition to its plus in safety, scores with the best ventilation available on the market – an unbeatable team when combined with matching PANOMA snow goggles. 8

TECHNOLOGY

INMOLD

HI-EPS

INMOLD ski helmets by ALPINA are very light as well as extremely sturdy. This is achieved by a production process in which the helmet’s polycarbonate upper shell is fused with the EPS granulate under high heat and pressure. The result is an inseparable bond between the upper and lower shells across a large area.

The inner shell of every ALPINA helmet consists of HI-EPS (“High Expanded Polystyrene”). These microscopic air pockets absorb the forces that act in an impact and provide the protective damping. HI-EPS allows extra-thin wall thicknesses and slim helmet shapes to be achieved. As HIEPS absorbs neither water nor perspiration the protective effect is retained for a long time.

MONOCOQUE What do a Formula 1 race car and SUPERCYBRIC by ALPINA have in common? Both have a super-light yet high-strength monocoque chassis. A polyamide lattice framework that is integrated with the helmet structure provides extreme stiffening of the helmet and ensures maximum protection against any type of impact. Even in the case of shocks where the force is concentrated in a small area of the surface, for instance when a loose ski whirling around hits the helmet, the impact force is evenly distributed across the entire helmet structure. This allows the protective potential of the whole INMOLD helmet shell to be used. 9

A helmet consists of a lot more than just an impact-absorbing shell. Its interior has to optimally adapt to the head shape and in any type of crash its strap and closure system has to keep the helmet in the place where it belongs: on the wearer’s head. A helmet can only provide good protection if it fits well in two different ways. For one, it has to fit well enough for the user to enjoy wearing it at all times. For the other, it has to fit well enough to stay on the wearer’s head in the optimal position in the event of a crash. This means that ergonomics play a crucial role because every head is unique. The challenge, therefore, lies in adjusting the interior of the helmet shell individually enough for it to optimally adapt itself to any head shape. Technologies such as 3D-FIT, RUN SYSTEM ERGO SNOW or CUSTOM FIT SYSTEM help ensure that the helmet always stays exactly in the place it should.

10

3D-FIT

CUSTOM FIT

New in the 2013/2014 season: Our new 3D-FIT-SYSTEM is a thin strap that runs around the back of the neck and can be individually adjusted in height in five steps – for even better and secure fit.

The CUSTOM FIT SYSTEM is a further development of the time-tested RUN SYSTEM. The inclination of the retaining bracket at the back of the head on which the practical control knob for width adjustment sits can be adjusted and thus optimally adapts to the back of the head.

ergonomiCS

RUN SYSTEM ERGO SNOW

RUN SYSTEM CLASSIC

Alpina ski helmets rely on the time-tested RUN SYSTEM, a flexible head adjustment system with a central rotatable control knob. The top-end model has two large pads to the left and right of the re-designed control knob that distribute pressure. The large control knob is made of a two-component mix that grips well and can be perfectly operated when wearing ski gloves.

The classic for optimal fit: Thanks to the plastic control knob at the back of the head the helmet can be adjusted to the head in a flash and will reliably remain where it belongs.

Y-CLIP

ERGOMATIC

A helmet can only protect the wearer as effectively as it stays in its optimal position in case of a fall. The retention of the two under-ear straps plays a crucial part in this. ALPINA’s “Y-Clip” system guarantees optimal adjustment with millimeter-accuracy – easily and in a matter of seconds.

Proven a hundred-thousand-fold and used in all ALPINA ski helmets: Our famous strap buckle with a red push button and multi-step automatic locking mechanism. ERGOMATIC can be operated when wearing ski gloves – the strap can be loosened while using the ski lift and tightened again before the downhill run – and is prevented from opening on its own in a crash.

11

VENTURI-EFFEKT What are the essential capabilities of a ski helmet? First of all, it has to provide optimum protection. Aside from that, it has to ensure that heat will not accumulate inside the helmet while its wearer is working up a sweat carving down the slopes. For this purpose, helmets have varying numbers of large, specifically positioned vents. ALPINA helmets, first and foremost our innovative CHEOS, use the so-called “Venturi effect” for effective air circulation. And how does this effect, named after its inventor Giovanni Battista Venturi, work? In simple terms: When a pipe has varying crosssections the velocity of the air flow will be the highest in the most constricted section of the pipe. When another pipe is attached to this constriction the vacuum will cause air to be aspirated from of this pipe. ALPINA engineers use this “jet effect” to aspirate air in the area of the forehead, warm it up in the helmet’s interior and let it flow out again at the back. AIRSTREAM CONTROL denotes the intelligent venting system used in ALPINA ski helmets. Vents located at the front (and, for instance, with the CHEOS model additionally underneath the front edge) use the “Venturi effect” in which the air is accelerated as it would be in a jet and is practically aspirated into the helmet’s interior. After all, air flow is the most effective means available to counter the accumulation of heat inside the helmet. Wind blast (and in the case of CHEOS, for instance, pre-warmed air from the fitting snow goggles) flows into the helmet’s interior, is warmed up and flows out again through the vents at the back. To control the air flow, the vents can be opened and closed using a sliding mechanism – naturally with ski gloves on as well.

AIRSTREAM CONTROL 12

COMFORT

REMOVABLE EARPADS

CHANGEABLE INTERIOR

The REMOVABLE EARPADS can be detached in fractions of a second and stowed in the pockets of a ski jacket. When enjoying the snow on a warm and sunny Easter weekend, this feature will allow you to experience an even higher degree of freedom during your ride. – And when temperatures drop again, just click the ear pads back on.

Freecarve or freeride bonanzas can be a sweat-inducing affairs! Especially the head acts as a veritable “heat exchanger.” That’s why ALPINA ski helmets equipped with CHANGEABLE INTERIOR allow you to quickly remove the interior lining, hand-wash it in tepid soap water, let it dry and simply insert it again.

NECKWARMER New in the 2013/14 winter season: ALPINA’s NECKWARMER. The neck warmer is pulled down low at the back of the helmet and consists of a comfortable, soft micro-fleece material. This “heat collar” also prevents the neck from being hit by air draft at high speed and Siberian temperatures. Thanks to its clever construction there are no pressure points.

SUPERCYBRIC – the race car among ski helmets SUPER CYBRIC is the first ski helmet with a built-in monocoque, a composite technology used in automobile racing. The helmet is extremely stiffened by an integrated lattice construction which distributes the forces that act on the helmet in a crash evenly and gently to the entire helmet structure. Thanks to INMOLD manufacturing technology this gain in safety is combined with a very low total weight. The helmet easily meets the requirements of the stringent CE EN 1077 standard for helmets. Cutting-edge wearing comfort and ease of use is ensured by an active venting system that is operated by a sliding mechanism on the upper side of the helmet, removable ear pads plus a washable interior lining. A sophisticated adjustment system for fine-tuning assures optimal fit. The time-tested Run-System for size adjustment has been further optimized in combination with the CUSTOM FIT SYSTEM for final adjustment and the new NECKWARMER. This makes Subercybric one of the most comfortable and rugged ski helmets of all.

SNOW MYTHOS – A HELMET THAT DISPROVES MYTHS THROUGH FACTS One of the highlights of the 2013/14 season no doubt is Snow Mythos. A helmet that disproves any of the preconceived notions about helmets such as…“Helmets are heavy, uncomfortable, too hot, too cold or ugly.” SNOW MYTHOS is – most certainly – none of the above! Due to its sensational weight of 399 g, three-step ventilation, integrated goggle venting, the time-tested Run System and fantastic designs SNOW MYTHOS has got what it takes to become a legend in its own time.

CHEOS: ALPINA’s first hybrid helmet CHEOS unites cutting-edge technologies, unique performance, uncompromising safety and exceptional design. Its “hybrid” technology combines the advantages of Inmold and Hardshell technologies. EPS in the lower part is fused with an Inmold shell. The benefits: low weight and optimum damping. EPS is found in the upper part as well but with a Hardshell covering. The benefits: Maximum impact resistance and plenty of room for openings and channels. As a result, CHEOS achieves unrivaled ventilation. In addition to the vents at the front, cold air also flows into the helmet along the front helmet edge. It is warmed in channels and flows out again through holes on the top and back. This “Venturi effect” is supported by PANOMA snow goggles. The air that has been warmed in the goggles flows out at the top – and directly moves on into CHEOS – the world’s most modern helmet.

GOGGLES 55

ALPINA has something against fogged lenses: It’s called AIRFRAME-VENTING and is a system consisting of a clever configuration of vents in the snow goggles and the helmet – perfectly coordinated for optimum vision at all times. AIRFRAME VENTING is the name of the intelligent frame venting system in ALPINA snow goggles. Vents at the side and bottom use the socalled “Venturi effect” in which the air is accelerated as it would be in a jet and practically aspirated into the goggles’ interior. After all, air flow is the most effective means available to prevent fogging of the interior lens. The air is routed through channels in such a way that no air draft can cause eye irritation. The air that has been warmed up inside the goggles flows out of them again through vents at the top – and directly into the corresponding vents in the ski helmet.

AIRFRAME VENTING

56

SPHERICAL LENS

HINGE BAND

The spherically curved thermal double lens provides clearly improved panoramic vision. In addition, the enlarged interior volume improves thermal management inside the goggles. And THERMOBLOCK, THERMOBARRIER plus FOGSTOP effectively prevent fogging of the goggles.

Our snow goggles featuring HINGE BAND technology don’t have the goggle strap attached directly to the frame but to movable plastic hooks on the outside of the frame. This construction provides even better fit of the goggles – especially when they’re worn with a ski helmet.

SNOW GOGGLES TechnologY

SKID GRIP

MAGNETIC LENS

Ski helmets typically have very smooth surfaces. When the skier makes dynamic movements on a trail with moguls or in open terrain conventional goggle straps can easily move out of place, unlike goggle straps using SKID GRIP technology: The special rubber coating on the inside keeps the goggles from slipping.

In fog or under blue skies: Snow goggles featuring MAGNETIC LENS technology ensure clear vision! You choose between a brighter bad-weather lens and a darker fair-weather lens. The darker lens is attached to the brighter lower lens by means of a magnet where it will stay in place – until you make it disappear in your pocket when the weather turns again.

180+ VIEW

COMFORT FRAME

ALPINA snow goggles with 180+ VIEW have a larger field of vision than the 180 degree field prescribed by the CE standard. A special goggle corpus and extra-large, curved panoramic lenses make this possible. This ensures a better overview – and earlier recognition of dangers in the peripheral field of vision.

New for the 2013/2014 winter season: ALPINA’s COMFORT FRAME. Small zigzag-shaped, flexible plastic ties in the forehead and cheek area of the goggle frame plus a more flexible nose construction allow the snow goggles to adapt to the wearer’s individual facial shape particularly well – for superior comfort without pressure points!

57

QUATTRO-VARIOFLEX: automatic lens tinting, contrast enhancement and fogging protection for perfectly clear vision.

QUATTRO-VARIOFLEX combines two innovative ALPINA technologies: the polarizing QUATTROFLEX lens and automatic VARIOFLEX lens tinting. The lens that thinks while you move! Every winter sports enthusiast knows this situation: You start carving in the morning in brilliant sunshine – naturally wearing dark glasses against the glaring light. But around noon the weather starts to turn and dark clouds soon obscure the sun. Now a second pair of glasses with a clear, high-contrast bad-weather lens would be great. Much better yet: an ALPINA with QUATTRO-VARIOFLEX! QUATTROFLEX polarization provides optimum contrast enhancement while VARIOFLEX automatically tints your lens by two protection levels with extremely short response to changing conditions. On top of that, FOGSTOP coating plus THERMOBLOCK insulation between the inner and outer lens improve fogging protection by 20 percent. QUATTRO-VARIOFLEX – the lens that thinks while you move!

MAGNETIC LENS The idea is simple (and) brilliant: The MAGNETIC LENS system consists of snow goggles with a high-contrast bad-weather lens and an extra fair-weather lens that hooks on to the exterior of the frame by means of a magnet. There’s nothing permanent except change – especially when it comes to the weather. Now there’s help for skiers who are tired of lugging around a second or even a third pair of goggles in their rucksack – the MAGNETIC LENS system by ALPINA. When the sky is blue an extra-dark sunshine lens hooks on to the exterior of the goggle frame. Thanks to magnetic support this is done in a flash and the lens stays in place even when the going gets a little rougher. As soon as the weather turns and vision becomes more diffuse you just click off the fair-weather lens, put it in your pocket and keep moving with the contrast-enhancing bad-weather lens. In other words, snow goggles with the MAGNETIC LENS system are two pairs of goggles rolled into one!

QUATTROFLEX MIRROR Skiers are frequently struggling with diffuse light conditions and blurred contours on the slopes. ALPINA’s antidote is called QUATTROFLEX MIRROR – a polarizing lens that makes contours more clearly visible. ALPINA engineers have managed to combine the advantages of the polarizing QUATTROFLEX technology and HYBRID MIRROR technology that provides exceptionally high protection against infrared radiation. QUATTROFLEX MIRROR and QUATTROFLEX HICON are produced in an extremely complex process. As the polarization crystals are very sensitive to heat care must be taken to prevent them from being damaged during the mirror coating process. The result of this unique manufacturing technology, in which the exterior QUATTROFLEX lens is sealed with a micro-fine HYBRID MIRROR coating several times, is sensational vision and a unique shape. The combination of a red-orange tinted exterior lens and a yellow-orange tinted interior lens for optimum brightening and contrast recognition is a hallmark of QUATTROFLEX HICON.

DOUBLEFLEX There are many snow goggles with double lenses. But double lenses featuring DOUBLEFLEX technology are only available from ALPINA. The benefits of this double lens that has been proven in the field a hundred thousand times: optimum fogging protection plus unique contrast enhancement. DOUBLEFLEX is much more than a double lens. It is a flexible thermal double lens which in combination with THERMOBLOCK (a block of air between the two lenses), THERMOCOATING (special coating on the two interior sides of the double lens) and FOGSTOP coating guarantees a 20 percent improvement of fogging protection compared to conventional double lenses. But absence of fogging is one thing and contrast enhancement a totally different matter. HICON is responsible for the latter. The combination of a red-orange tinted exterior lens and a yellow-orange tinted interior lens ensures optimum brightening and contrast recognition. The result: Vision in snowfall, fog or diffuse light conditions – and thus the wearer’s safety – is significantly improved by DOUBLEFLEX lenses.

OVER THE GLASSES No more wearing of contact lenses when skiing! ALPINA’s snow goggle line OVER THE GLASSES allows wearers of correction lenses to easily wear their regular optical glasses inside the snow goggles – for perfectly clear vision! Do I have to wear contacts for skiing? Will my correction glasses fit under the snow goggles? Are the side stems pushing against the ears and temples? Wearers of correction glasses face many questions in winter sports. And ALPINA’s got the right answer! With snow goggles form our OVER THE GLASSES line wearers of correction lenses have perfectly clear vision. At first glance, the snow goggles look just like our “normal” models. At second glance, though, they reveal their advantages for prescription glass wearers. Thanks to the extra-large interior volume and special frame construction of our OTG snow goggles prescription glass wearers can use their normal optical glasses under the snow goggles, without pressure points or fogging – with perfectly clear vision restored! 84

Back protectors: so a crash won’t crush you The forces that act on the body of a skier who crashes on an icy slope or in rocky terrain are comparable to those of a motorbike racer crashing against a curb. Therefore, smart skiers will not only protect their heads but also their spinal columns. The next time you’re out skiing why not check this out by looking around a restaurant at lunchtime? What are you going to see? First, every child and practically every adult is wearing a ski helmet. Second, more and more skiers can be seen wearing back protectors under their ski jackets. Not just freeriders or kicker jumpers but perfectly normal slope riders. There’s no doubt about skiers in the third millennium going for speed as well as maximum safety. And ALPINA not only ensures perfect head protection but back protection as well! In collaboration with leading manufacturers of motorcycle protection gear, ALPINA has developed an ultra-modern softshell protector jacket that combines five layers of EVA foam which have various degrees of hardness and thickness. As a result, our “Jacket Soft Protector” offers maximum protection of the spinal column despite its minimal weight. Plus it manages the balancing act of fitting as tightly as possible while allowing the skier sufficient freedom of movement at any time based on the notion that people only enjoy wearing things that are comfortable. And if the protectors’ colors perfectly match helmet and goggles, as those from ALPINA do, then protectors almost become a stylish accessory.

JET VISION Helmets equipped with a firmly integrated shield with time-tested ALPINA lenses.

HIGHVENT VISOR

RECON READY

The rubber coating on the inside of the goggle strap prevents the strap from slipping on the ski helmet.

OVER THE GLASSES

The inner shell of all INMOLD helmets consists of HI-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). It is made up of a large number of microscopic air pockets which absorb the impact forces that act in a crash. In addition, HI-EPS absorbs neither water nor perspiration.

OVERVIEW OF SKI HELMET TECHNOLOGIES

EDGE PROTECT EDGE PROTECT is applied to the helmet’s bottom edges using INMOLD technology – a genuine plus in safety in side-impact crashes and protection against damage in daily use.

A specially molded helmet shield ensures targeted air flow and thus optimizes ventilation of the helmet.

Airstream CONTROL To control the air stream, the vents in the helmet can be opened and closed using a sliding mechanism.

venting system Vents in the helmet shell effectively prevent an accumulation of heat and thus ensure perfect air conditioning.

A cover specifically adapted to the INMOLD helmet shell in the form of a knitted cap gives the helmet a unique look.

Y-CLIP The Y-CLIP joins the front and rear strap underneath the ear. Fine-adjustment is extremely easy.

CUSTOM FIT SYSTEM For perfect adjustment to the back of the head, the neck bracket is three-way adjustable.

RUN SYSTEM ERGO SNOW Flexible head adjustment system with large, easy-to-grip control knob made of a twocomponent mix and fitted with two large pressure-distributing pads at the back of the head.

REMOVABLE EARPADS Removable ear pads provide a feeling of freedom while riding in warm weather – without sacrifice to the protective function. When temperatures drop the pads can simply be attached to the helmet again by means of a clicking mechanism or buttons.

RUN SYSTEM A simple and rugged control knob that securely and easily keeps the helmet where it belongs: on the head.

3D FIT CHANGEABLE INTERIOR

hybrid inmold

All ALPINA helmets are fitted with the ERGOMATIC strap buckle. The anti-torsion multi-step locking mechanism can be operated with a single hand and cannot come open in a crash.

The changeable interior lining can be removed, hand-washed in tepid soap water and simply be inserted again.

The head band at the back of the head is height-adjustable in five steps for enhanced fit of the helmet.
