MATERIALS + CONSTRUCTION NS CUSTOM FLIGHTCORE
Never Summer’s exclusive CUSTOM FLIGHT CORE is the most technically advanced core system we’ve ever used. Designed and built in NS’s woodcore facility, these cores fuse premium hardwood and ultra light softwood laminates together with vertical layers of elastomeric vibration dampers. These lightweight perimeter dampers actually increase vibration absorption the faster you ride while maintaining an incredible amount of snap and liveliness, providing a level of edgehold and high speed performance that only a Never Summer snowboard can deliver.
PRESS FLEX CORE
This rocker core design is perfect for the Evo, Revolver and Onyx models. This core features 2 specific softer flex points between the feet creating better hinge points for ultimate pressing and ollie performance.
NS SUPERLIGHT WOOD CORE
Taking our custom flight core even further, we’ve designed the SUPERLIGHT WOOD CORE specifically for our new Carbonium series. This core blends extremely light wood with durable hardwood for unmatched strength to weight ratio.
CARBONIUM DAMPING SYSTEM (CDS)
The CDS greatly reduces vibration and provides unmatched high speed stability and control. Thin elastomeric rubber stringers reduce vibration from the metal edge and surrounding laminates. Stringers below the inserts and under the carbon dampen any additional vibration near the bindings, giving the Carbonium Series boards a smooth riding feel underfoot without sacrificing snap and power throughout the board.
WOMEN’S CARBONIUM DAMPING SYSTEM (WCDS)
The WCDS is tailored for a female rider. Three elastomeric rubber foils around the perimeter of the board provide an optimum balance of high-speed stability and vibration absorption while maintaining an agile feel.
RDS 1 DAMPING SYSTEM
This is our most extensive damping system specifically designed for the Premier F1. Three full perimeter layers of elastomeric rubber foil are laminated between the metal edge, fiberglass and wood core. This provides unmatched stability and a smooth riding feel especially at high speeds.
RDS 2 DAMPING SYSTEM
This lightweight system uses three narrower laminated damping layers that provide the perfect combination of vibration absorption and stability. RDS 2 is specifically designed for the SL, Legacy and Infinity. DAMPNESS & FLEX METERS Dampness: 10 is very damp (more stable and smooth riding at high speeds), 1 is least damp (more snappy and lively underfoot) Flex: 10 is stiffer in flex (better for high speed freestyle and freeriding, better for bigger riders), 1 is softer in flex (better for presses, butters, more forgiving)
HARMONIC TIP/TAIL DAMPER (HDT)
CARBON VXR LAMINATE TECHNOLOGY
Harmonic dampers in tip and tail take out a large percentage of residual vibration by quieting the nose and tail. This enhances stability at speed, in variable snow conditions and on hard landings without deadening the liveliness and pop of the cambered areas.
The CARBON VXR system is specifically designed for our SL, Legacy, Evo, Revolver and Infinity freestyle snowboards. Dual carbon v’s help transfer more energy to the end of the effective edge, tip and tail without making these boards too stiff for buttering and presses. This is the most versatile Carbon system for those that prefer a freestyle feel to their board whether in the park or freeriding the mountain.
EVO DAMPING SYSTEM (EDS)
The EDS utilizes thinner elastomeric rubber foil in the effective edge for a lighter, snappy feel. More extensive rubber in the tip/tail provides stability and vibration asborption not generally found in an ultralight park board.
ONYX DAMPING SYSTEM (ODS)
The ODS integrates less extensive elastomeric rubber foil around the perimeter of the board with underfoot stabilizers. Resulting in a smooth yet light and lively ride.
ELASTOMERIC UNDERFOOT STABILIZERS
Elastomeric Rubber Stabilizers directly below the mounting area provide optimum vibration absorption and increase high speed stability while reducing foot fatigue.
CARBON V-TWIN LAMINATE TECHNOLOGY
The Premier F1 benefits most from the CARBON V-TWIN laminate system which extends the carbon “V”s from the bindings to the ends of the effective edge increasing power and edge response. An additional carbon V is added to the tail to increase edge hold and power out of turns.
CARBONIUM TOPSHEET
A very durable, scratch and chip resistant material with a high tech carbon fiber like visual. This textured material also provides more grip than a gloss topsheet, working as a built in stomp pad.
SINTERED P-TEX SIDEWALL
We were the first snowboard company to use and perfect SINTERED P-TEX SIDEWALLS, and we’ve never seen one crack. Unlike conventional ABS sidewalls, that have a tendency to crack in colder temperatures, SINTERED P-TEX SIDEWALLS maintain their integrity at any temperature.
STS PRETENSIONED FIBERGLASS
The world’s best snowboard fiberglass, period. Our STS ADVANCED FIBERGLASS is a pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered laminate that has added elastomer stringers between the 0 degree and 90 degree glass fibers the length of the effective edge. This produces a stronger bond between the individual glass laminates giving our snowboard unmatched strength, edge hold and performance.

WCLT has been designed specifically for the Carbonium Raven. LOW PROFILE TIP/TAIL (LPT)
A low profile in the nose and tail of the snowboard maximizes material contact with the snow for more powerful ollie/nollie pop and adds stability to your landings. LPT also reduces the plowing effect in the nose for better glide to the next feature and superior float when it’s deep.
BI-LITE fiberglass combines many of the strength characteristics of STS ADVANCED fiberglass with an ultra light glass fiber matrix. This delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability.

For 2013/14 we’ve developed a new Extended Transition Rocker Camber Profile (EXRC) specifically for the Proto. Type: Women’s freestyle/pipe & park Introducing the new Never Summer Onyx. We engineered the Onyx with a true twin shape, blunted low profile nose and tail, and Press Flex Core. This shape minimizes material for a lighter more balanced spin weight while extending the effective edge for more stability on takeoffs and landings. We added a low profile nose and tail for powerful pop that also reduces drag and enables the rider to carry speed into the next feature. The Press Flex Core allows riders to easily manipulate the board for a buttery, fun, and playful ride. The Onyx Damping System (ODS) and the Harmonic Damper Tip/Tail (HDT) work together in perfect harmony to absorb vibration in the nose and tail while increasing liveliness in the cambered areas for crisp performance. The Prospector Split is all about exploration and it’s here to make its claim. Featuring the mother load of technical features including a new extended transition profile, Carbonium Laminate Technology and a super progressive shape. The new tapered and spaded shape allows the tail to sink while the more defined lower profile tip planes off in the deepest of pow. A slightly stiffer flex and more extensive rubber damping system make this split a real charger with stability at speed on variable surfaces.
