TEC HELME IN-MOLD TECHNOLOGY
IN-MOLD TECHNOLOGY bezeichnet ein Verfahren, bei dem unter großem Druck und starker Hitze die Innenschale des Helmes unter die Außenschale geschäumt wird. Diese untrennbare Verbindung schafft eine extrem stabile Helmstruktur – und spart noch dazu Gewicht. Vor allem bei mechanischen Einwirkungen, z.B. bei einem Sturz auf einen spitzen Gegenstand, bietet ein IN-MOLD-Helm deutlich besseren Schutz als ein nur punktuell verklebter Helm.
IN-MOLD TECHNOLOGY is the name of a process whereby the inner shell of the helmet is formed by means of foam applied under high pressure and great heat beneath the outer shell. This firm bond creates an extremely stable helmet structure while at the same time saving on weight. Especially under mechanical forces, e.g. during a fall onto a pointed object, an IN-MOLD helmet provides better protection than one which has only been glued in certain places.
HI-EPS HI-EPS bedeutet: „High Expanded Polystyrol“. Die Innenschalen aller IN-MOLD-Helme sind aus HI-EPS gefertigt – einem besonders feinporigen Material, das aus vielen mikroskopisch kleinen Luftkammern besteht. Diese Lufteinschlüsse absorbieren bei einem Aufprall die einwirkenden Kräfte und sorgen für die schützende Dämpfung. IN-MOLD-Helme mit HI-EPS bieten also größtmögliche Schutzwirkung. Diese bleibt lange erhalten, da HI-EPS weder Wasser noch Schweiß aufnimmt. HI-EPS means: “Highly expanded polystyrene”. The inner shells of all IN-MOLD helmets are made from HI-EPS, an especially fine-grained material consisting of many microscopically small air chambers. In a crash these air bubbles absorb the acting forces and ensure protective damping. IN-MOLD helmets with HI-EPS therefore provide the greatest possible protection. This lasts for a long time because HI-EPS absorbs neither water nor perspiration.
CERAMIC Die Außenschale aller im IN-MOLD-Verfahren gefertigten ALPINA-Helme besteht aus CERAMIC. Dieses Polycarbonat besitzt erstaunliche Eigenschaften: Obwohl sehr dünn und leicht, ist es extrem bruch- und kratzfest, UV-stabil und antistatisch. The outer shell of all ALPINA helmets produced by the IN-MOLD methods is made from CERAMIC. This polycarbonate possesses astonishing properties: although it is very thin and light in weight, it is extremely resistant to breaking and scratching and is UV-stable and antistatic.
STANDARD CE EN 1077 Der CE-Test nach Norm EN 1077 stellt die derzeit härtesten Prüfbedingungen für Skihelme dar. Unter anderem werden Stoßdämpfung, Durchdringung mit einem spitzen Gegenstand (der die Spitze eines Skistocks simuliert), Gurtsystem und Sichtfeld geprüft. Alle ALPINA-Skihelme erfüllen die aktuelle europäische Norm CE EN 1077. The CE test in compliance with the EN 1077 standard represents the toughest testing conditions for ski helmets at this time. Among other things shock absorption, penetration by a pointed object (simulating the tip of a ski-stick), the belt system and field of view are tested. All ALPINA ski helmets meet the requirements of the current CE EN 1077 European standard.

CHANGEABLE INTERIOR Wer Ski fährt, schwitzt. Vor allem am Kopf. Deshalb kann man bei ALPINA-Helmen mit CHANGEABLE INTERIOR das Innenfutter schnell herausnehmen, mit lauwarmem Seifenwasser handwaschen, trocknen lassen und einfach wieder einsetzen. Anyone who skis also perspires; especially on the head. ERGOMATIC Alle ALPINA-Helme besitzen das ergonomisch geformte Gurtschloss ERGOMATIC. Die verdrehsichere und mehrstufige Rastautomatik kann sich bei einem Sturz nicht öffnen und bietet damit optimale Sicherheit. Zudem lässt sich ERGOMATIC mit einer Hand intuitiv bedienen: Bei der Bergauffahrt lässt sich so der Kinnriemen leicht lockern und vor der Abfahrt schnell wieder straffen. All ALPINA helmets are equipped with the ergonomicallyshaped ERGOMATIC strap closure. The anti-twist, multistage automatic catch can be used single-handed and it cannot open in case of a fall, thus offering optimal safety. Furthermore, the ERGOMATIC can be operated intuitively with one hand only. It is therefore possible to loosen the chin strap when going up the mountain and to tighten it quickly before skiing downhill.

Controlled Airstream Zur Regulierung des Luftstroms lassen sich Belüftungsöffnungen am Helm mit einem Schieber öffnen und schließen. Intuitiv und auch mit Skihandschuhen. The airflow is regulated by opening and closing air vents on the helmet by means of a valve. These are used intuitively, even with ski gloves on.
AIR FLOW VENTS Belüftungsöffnungen an den richtigen Stellen im Helm verhindern wirkungsvoll einen Hitzestau und sorgen für wohltuende Kühlung. Air vents in the right places in the helmet effectively prevent heat accumulation and ensure a pleasant coolness.
monocoque MONOCOQUE ist ein in die Helmstruktur integriertes Innengerüst, das den Helm extrem versteift und somit maximalen Schutz gegen Stöße jeglicher Art bietet. Eine Polyamid-Gitterstruktur verteilt bei jedem Aufprall – auch bei punktueller Belastung wie z. B. einem herumwirbelnden Ski – die einwirkende Kraft gleichmäßig auf die gesamte Helmstruktur. Durch das MONOCOQUEKonstruktionsprinzip kann also das volle Schutzpotential der gesamten IN-MOLD-Helmschale ausgenutzt werden. MONOCOQUE is a frame integrated into the structure of the helmet on the inside, lending the helmet extreme rigidity and hence providing maximum protection against knocks of all kinds. Whenever there is an impact – even from pointed objects such as a ski flying around – a polyamide mesh distributes the acting force evenly over the entire structure of the helmet. Therefore, with the MONOCOQUE design principle it is possible to make full use of the protective potential of the entire IN-MOLD helmet shell.
EDGE PROTECT EDGE PROTECT ist eine Polycarbonatplatte, die im IN-MOLDVerfahren mit der Unterkante des Helms „verbacken“ wird – ein entscheidendes Plus an Sicherheit bei einem seitlichen Aufprall und ein wirkungsvoller Schutz gegen Beschädigungen des Helms beim täglichen Gebrauch. EDGE PROTECT is a polycarbonate plate which is bonded with the lower edge of the helmet by the IN-MOLD method. This is a crucial additional safety feature for lateral impacts and is effective protection against damage to the helmet in everyday use.
SWING FIT System Das SWING-FIT SYSTEM ist eine Weiterentwicklung des bewährten RUN SYSTEMS. Der Haltebügel am Hinterkopf, auf dem das praktische Komfort-Drehrad sitzt, lässt sich in drei Positionen in der Neigung verstellen und ermöglicht damit die perfekte Anpassung an den Hinterkopf.
REMOVABLE EARPADS Y-CLIP Der Y-CLIP führt das vordere und hintere Gurtband zusammen und fixiert sie angenehm unter dem Ohr. Die Feinanpassung funktioniert spielend einfach und blitzschnell. The Y CLIP brings the front and back straps together and fixes them comfortably beneath the ear. Fine adjustment is child’s play and as fast as lightning.
Bei ALPINA-Skihelmen mit REMOVALBLE EARPADS lassen sich die beiden Ohrenpolster in Sekundenschnelle abnehmen. Bei sonnig-warmem Wetter oder beim Frühjahrsskifahren entsteht so ein neues, freies Fahrgefühl – ohne dass die Schutzfunktion leidet. Und wenn es wieder kälter wird, docken die Pads einfach wieder per Klickverschluss oder Druckknöpfen sicher am Helm an. On ALPINA ski helmets with REMOVABLE EARPADS the two earpads can be removed in seconds. In warm, sunny weather or when skiing in spring, the wearer has a new, free skiing experience without the protective function being impaired. And if it gets colder the pads are simply reattached to the helmet by means of a snap lock or press stud.
The SWING-FIT SYSTEM is a further development of the time-tested RUN SYSTEM. The retaining bracket at the back of the head which bears the practical comfort dial can adjust inclination in three positions and hence enables perfect adaptation to the shape of the back of the wearer’s head.

tec protector Standard CE EN 1621-2 Die Norm für Rückenprotektoren Die enormen Kräfte, die bei Stürzen auf vereisten Pisten oder in felsigem Gelände auf Skifahrer einwirken, sind vergleichbar mit denen bei Stürzen gegen Bordsteine und auf Asphalt beim Motorradsport. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit vielen führenden Motorradherstellern hat ALPINA ein hochmodernes Schutzprodukt entwickelt, das fünf EVA-Schaumlagen unterschiedlicher Härte und Dicke kombiniert. Damit wird maximaler Schutz bei geringstem Gewicht gewährleistet. Auch die Rückenprotektoren-Studie des Instituts für biomedizinische Technik der Eidgenössischen Technischen Hochschule Zürich aus dem Jahre 2009 bestätigt: ALPINA-Protektoren reduzieren einwirkende Kräfte von bis zu 180 kN (Kilo-Newton) im Mittelwert auf unter 8 kN. Damit erreichen sie die höchste Schutzstufe 2 und erfüllen die höchsten Qualitätsstandards im Bereich der Rückenprotektoren.
CE EN 1621-2 THE STANDARD FOR BACK PROTECTORS The enormous forces which act on skiers when they fall on icy slopes or on rocky terrain are comparable to those experienced by motorbike riders falling against curbs and onto asphalt. In close cooperation with many leading motorcycle manufacturers, ALPINA has developed a state-of-the-art protective product which combines five layers of EVA foam of varying hardness and thickness. This ensures maximum protection at a very low weight. And the 2009 back protector study by the Institute for Biomedical Technology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) has confirmed that on average ALPINA protectors reduce acting forces of up to 180 kN (kilo Newtons) to less than 8 kN. They thus achieve the top level of protection (2) and meet the highest quality standards in the back protector sector.

Softshell Protektorweste Sicher ist sicher: Neben dem Helm ist der Rückenprotektor die beste Unfallversicherung für Skifahrer. Aber genau wie der Skihelm muss auch die Protektorweste den Spagat schaffen, einerseits für bestmöglichen Schutz möglichst eng zu sitzen, andererseits aber genügend Bewegungsfreiraum zu lassen. Denn nur, was bequem ist, wird auch konsequent getragen. Deshalb sollte man schon bei der Anprobe im Sportfachhandel einige Dinge beachten: Zu allererst muss der Protektor lange genug sein, um die gesamte Wirbelsäule von den Halswirbeln bis zu den Lendenwirbeln zu schützen. Wichtig ist zudem, die Protektorweste nicht über Pullover oder Jacke, sondern unter der Skibekleidung zu tragen. Möglichst nahe am Körper des Trägers anliegend, bietet der Protektor damit optimalen Schutz und Komfort. Den richtigen Sitz und die Bewegungsfreiheit kann man bei der Anprobe durch kräftiges Rudern mit den Armen und durch Beugen des Oberkörpers überprüfen. Mit einem perfekt sitzenden Protektor ist man immer auf der sicheren Seite.
SOFTSHELL PROTECTIVE VEST One thing is sure: next to helmets, back protectors are the best form of accident insurance for skiers. However, just like ski helmets, protective vests must perform a balancing act between as tight a fit as possible for maximum protection at the same time leaving enough freedom of movement. Only if something is comfortable will it be worn consistently. Therefore there are a few things which must be taken into account when trying one on at a sports shop: First of all, the protector must be long enough to protect the entire spine from the cervical vertebrae down to the lumbar vertebrae. It is also important not to wear the protective vest over pullovers or jackets but underneath the ski clothing. When worn as close to the body as possible, the protective vest provides optimal protection and comfort. You can check the fit and freedom of movement when you try it on by flailing your arms about and bending your upper body. You are always on the safe side with a protector which fits perfectly.
