TECHNICAL INFORMATION

SHELL

LEATHER / PALM

Due to the natural pores in the animal skin, leather is one of nature’s most breathable materials. Auclair leathers are treated to be resistant to abrasion if permitted to dry naturally.

All leather for ski gloves is drum-dyed which preserves the softness of the skin, the clarity of color and the luxurious feel of the natural leather.

LEATHER CARE

If leather is wet, dry naturally. Keep away from direct or extreme heat. Wash only with mild saddle soap and water. Avoid using any harsh detergent as this removes the natural oils from the skin.

GOATSKIN

Specifically tanned for durability, water repellency and suppleness.

COWHIDE

Cowhide leather is flexible, breathable and supple while conforming to the wearer’s hand. It ages well and lasts up to five times longer than fabric. Extremely tear and puncture resistant, it naturally repels moisture, retains its shape and resists sun and heat damage making it ideal for handwear.

DEERSKIN

Extremely soft, supple and durable. Naturally water resistant yet dries soft after having been wet. The fiber structure of deerskin leather will stay cooler in hotter climates and warmer in colder climates, compared to many other leathers, this quality makes deerskin an extremely versatile “all-season” choice.

SHEEPSKIN

Natural sheepskin is soft, light, extremely warm and exceptionally durable

PIGSKIN / PIGSUEDE

Soft, highly breathable due to its porous texture, very flexible, great gripping and very durable.

TECHNICAL SYNTHETIC FABRICS

GIGATEX

Laminated 2 Way stretch nylon - water repellent, breathable, windproof, flexible and highly resistant to abrasion

TASLAN NYLON

Extremely durable fabric with polyurethane water repellent coating to enhance seam strength and durability. Nylon dries quickly and washes well.

RIPSTOP NYLON

Woven ny lon fabr ic using special reinforcing technique that produces a fabric that is extremely resistant to tearing and ripping. Polyurethane coated for water repellency.

NEOPRENE

A synthetic rubber material designed to be flexible, resilient and highly resistant to abrasion. Weather resistant with great thermal insulation properties even when wet. Light and comfortable.

MICROFIBER

Densely woven fine yarns of nylon and/or polyester. Water beads off the surface but allows perspiration to pass through.

POLYESTER FLEECE

Lightweight, warm, soft napped insulating synthetic hydrophobic fabric. Retains insulating powers even when wet.

STRETCH FLEECE

Moisture wicking, resilient stretch. Highly breathable. Performance fit and easy care.

NO-PILL FLEECE

Lightweight, warm and soft. Pilling occurs after frequent usage because of friction of the fibers causing the edges to fray. No-pill or anti-pill fleece resists the pilling.

MICROFLEECE

Quick-drying, soft, combines warmth and the ability to keep you dry in a low-bulk package.

POLYTEX

Woven 4-Way Stretch polyester fabric with very strong water repellent spandex. The elasticity in this product is greatly improved by the special construction of micro fiber spandex in the material. The result is greater freedom of movement and breathability providing the ultimate in fit and comfort.

SPANDEX

Lightweight, soft. Smooth and supple. Can be stretched repeatedly and still recover to near its original length and shape. Stronger, more durable and higher retractive force than rubber.

SILK

Great softness, abrasion resistant and optimal thermal regulation.

WINDBLOCK FABRIC

A wind barrier that provides thermal insul ation by blocking w ind from penetrating though the fabric. Extremely soft and breathable.

LINING

BEMBERG FLEECE

Ultra-soft, 100% polyester fabric, optimal comfort and additional warmth.

POLYPRO

Due to its low thermal conductivity, polypro possesses high insulating power. Polypro enables the air to become trapped in its tiny apertures, creating the most efficient thermal insulation of any fabric in the marketplace today.

RAGG WOOL

Nature’s best performance fiber. Heavy duty, sturdy and warm. Inherent wicking and anti-microbial functionality.

INSULATION

The unique microfibers of Thinsulate™ insulation are ten times smaller than the fibers of other synthetic insulations which means warmth without bulk. This premium insulation keeps you warm by trapping and retaining body heat, while keeping low profile loft.

150g 3M™ Thinsulate™ Water Resistant Insulation (Type J)

Extreme warmth/high loft alternative to down. Insulation with a softer, richer feel. Technology enhancements that put your gloves in a class apart, without sacrificing the breathability, moisture resistance, and exceptional i n s u l a t i n g q u a l i t y f o r w h i c h Thinsulate™ insulation is known.

150g 3M™ Thinsulate™ Water Insulation

Offers one and a half times the warmth of down and nearly twice the warmth of high loft fiberfill insulations when equal weights are compared. Type C is designed for use where a thin, compressible insulation is important. It is breathable, moisture resistant and can be washed or dry cleaned.

PrimaLoft® Gold is highest performing synthetic insulation on the market for warmth, water resistance, softness and compressibility. Primaloft Gold is an ultra-fine microfiber insulation that is warm, soft, lightweight and warmer wet or dry than all other insulations.

MIRAFIL

Our own high loft lightweight polyester insulation provides exceptional warmth without the bulk. Easily washable and maintains its form. Anti-allergenic.

GOLD : +150 g - up to 200g

AMARA

Synthetic suede offers same allweather performance as leather, but in a thinner and more flexible material.

SILICONE GRIP

Silicone rubber anti-slip printing on palm material for excellent grip.

WATERPROOF MEMBRANE SYSTEMS

Unique Microporous hydrophobic membrane. T h e u n i q u e c o m b i n a t i o n o f microstructure and polyurethane chemistry ensures that PORELLE® microporous membranes remain water proof in use, even after repeated washes or steam sterilization

Thermolite® insulation provides warmth and comfort without weight. Thermolite® is hollow-core fibers trap in air for greater insulation for light, yet heavy-duty performance.

GOOSEDOWN

The lightest, warmest and most compressible insulation available. Providing ultimate warmth by trapping a layer of air within the down, separating the wearer from the outside cold.

DUCKDOWN

Nature’s premium insulation. Down clusters create “loft” that traps air providing optimal thermal regulation. The greater the loft, the warmer the insulation. PORELLE® microporous membranes are hydrophobic (water hating) and resist the passage of water, even under high pressure. At the same time the membrane breathes by allowing sweat in the form of water vapor molecules to pass through the microscopic pores. This is driven by the greater heat and the higher density of water vapor molecules coming from the inside of the glove. Fully waterproof and windproof membrane made by PORELLE® with a highly breathable palm-side.
